As the first sedan model in the brand’s new A-series, the A05s is set to feature LiDAR technology, which is expected to enable advanced driving assistance capabilities, including urban Navigate on Autopilot (NAP), highway pilot assist, and memory parking. This model was exposed by the regulatory filings in March. The interior is characterised by a two-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a floating centre console screen, and a full LCD instrument cluster. The centre console features a wireless smartphone charging pad and a vertical dual-cup holder configuration. Additional interior amenities include ambient lighting and a rear centre armrest. It features a closed-off front grille paired with styled headlights, while the hood is accented with several raised lines. The side profile showcases semi-hidden door handles, dual-tone five-spoke wheels, and a dual-tone body finish. The rear design mirrors that of the A10 model, incorporating distinctive “smiley face” taillights. Based on previous declaration information, the Leapmotor A05S measures 4200 mm in length, 1800 mm in width, and 1560 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2605 mm. The vehicle offers two powertrain options: a 70 kW (94 hp) motor and a 90 kW (121 hp) motor. These are paired with battery capacities of 39.8 kWh and 53 kWh, respectively, providing corresponding ranges of 405 km and 510 km. The A05S can be seen as the sedan version of the A-series’ first model, the A10 SUV. The Leapmotor A10 launched at the end of March and quickly became one of the best-selling models in China, ranking fourth in May’s sales charts.
