Several of the world's greatest racing drivers have competed in the series since its inaugural season in 2014, and races are held and broadcast all over the world.The current season is well underway, with Antonio Felix da Costa winning the most recent ePrix in Madrid. Drivers are currently utilizing the Formula E Gen3 Evo, but a revolution is coming to electric motorsport.This week, Formula E and the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) unveiled the GEN4 Formula E race car at Circuit Paul Ricard in the South of France. The new car is set to produce the most power and speed in the series' history while maintaining the FIA's commitment to sustainability and recyclability.GEN4: Formula E's Pinnacle of PerformanceOn track, the GEN4 car is capable of reaching speeds in excess of 335 kph (208 mph) and is able to go from 0-100 kph in just 1.8 seconds. The car is also able to move from 0-200 kph in 4.4 seconds - 1.5 seconds faster than the Gen3 Evo.The GEN4 car is set to deliver teams and drivers 50% more power in race mode than the current car, and is expected to be 10 seconds faster in qualifying mode. In "ATTACK MODE," Formulas E's strategic power boost, the GEN4 car can produce up to 600kW of power - a 71% jump from the previous generation.The car is also safer for drivers, with several new features to aid in protection. The GEN4 car has a wider cockpit and more adjustability in the driving position, giving drivers a higher range of motion without compromising their ability to perform on track.FIA, Formula E Show Excitement for the Future“The new GEN4 Formula E car marks a significant step forward for electric racing, setting a new global benchmark for performance, innovation, and sustainability," said FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem.“It is not simply just a fast car, it is a statement of intent about the future of this technology.
