Gasgoo Munich-CATL has formally signed strategic cooperation agreements with Xi'an Taijin New Energy & Materials Sci-Tech Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Huike New Materials Co., Ltd. The parties will establish a deep, long-term strategic partnership centered on core areas including centralized equipment procurement, joint capacity building, cost pricing, collaborative R&D, and shared green electricity.Image Source: CATLOn the equipment front, CATL and TJNE will establish a unified management mechanism covering planning, standards, and centralized procurement. Under the agreement, TJNE will provide standardized, large-scale delivery services for CATL's expansion projects, driving systemic cost reductions and technological upgrades in equipment.On the supply side, CATL will work with Shenzhen Huike and another partner to build 400,000 tons of lithium battery copper foil capacity over the next three years. Regarding pricing, the parties will adopt a new principle of "cost-plus, reasonable profit, and risk sharing," while locking in long-term supply volumes and reasonable processing fees for the new capacity.To ensure smooth execution, CATL will provide financial support to its partners through advance payments and optimized payment terms.This strategic signing signals a shift in the lithium copper foil industry from traditional transactional relationships to a new model of joint development and governance. CATL stated that by breaking the boundaries of traditional pricing and capacity cooperation, it aims to accelerate the creation of a self-reliant, mutually beneficial industrial ecosystem.
