While their offerings span across several similar segments, each brand has a unique feel and character that has attracted loyal followers who would never consider their rival's products. Mass-market brands like Ford and Chevrolet will be judged more harshly on value, ownership costs and practical aspects like storage and infotainment system usability. While certain models, like the Corvette and Mustang will need to deliver strong performance relative to their class, family-friendly models are more likely to lead to a high satisfaction rating by being comfortable and economical.The table above shows a snapshot of some of the ratings for both brands in 2026. While they are both very close in categories like maintenance and repair, road test performance and used car reliability, Ford as a brand is noticeably more reliable in the first five years of ownership. Chevrolet is closer to the bottom half of the manufacturers evaluated, and neither is particularly affordable to own between the 6- and 10-year mark.The road test scores are relatively disappointing for both brands, although this is an average figure of all models currently for sale, and some of the sportier offerings, like the Corvette scored near the top of their class in this category.Which Owners Are The Most Satisfied Overall?Cars & BidsBrandOwner SatisfactionFord68% (5th)Chevrolet64% (10th)The bare figures show that Ford owners are happier overall with their vehicles, and even though just 4% separates these two, the scores across the board are so close that Chevy's 64% Owner Satisfaction score places it 5 places lower in the overall rankings.AdvertisementAdvertisementHowever, that doesn't mean that you are guaranteed to be happier in a Ford, it all depends on which one you buy. Looking at the individual model scores reveals that there are several outliers for both Chevrolet and Ford, where the results are either way higher or lower than the average figures above.Choose Wisely For The Best ResultsChevroletView the 2 images of this gallery on the original articleFord's top owner satisfaction performers included the Mustang and Bronco at 73%, and the Maverick pickup with a 74% score. All three were at or near the top of their respective segments, which helped pull the brands overall results higher. At the other end of the scale were the Bronco Sport (57%) and Escape SUVs (55%). Both had several issues that made owners a lot less enthusiastic about their vehicles.Chevy owners were even more split in the appreciation of their vehicles, with an impressive 88% of Corvette owners saying they would buy the same car again. Contrast that with just 53% of TrailBlazer and Trax owners and only 54% of Equinox owners willing to go down the same purchasing path again. The wider spread of scores for Chevy vehicles means that you need to be more careful regarding your specific model selection.
