The battery boasts an energy density of 350Wh/kg, enabling a vehicle range exceeding 1,000 kilometers. On January 14, the winter test launch ceremony for Dongfeng’s solid-state battery prototype vehicle was held in Wuhan. Launch Ceremony for Dongfeng’s Solid-State Battery Prototype Vehicle Winter Testing The prototype vehicle equipped with Dongfeng’s 350Wh/kg solid-state battery officially set off for the Mohe cold-region testing base to conduct winter calibration tests. This round of testing focuses on three core dimensions: low-temperature range, low-temperature charging, and low-temperature durability. It involves over 70 test items conducted in extreme environments ranging from -40℃ to -30℃, systematically evaluating the battery’s range stability, charge-discharge efficiency, structural safety, and vehicle integration capabilities. According to official introduction, this battery boasts three core advantages: high safety, long range, and cold resistance: Its energy density reaches 350Wh/kg, capable of supporting a vehicle range exceeding 1000 kilometers; Its safety performance has passed the rigorous 170℃ thermal chamber test; In low-temperature environments of -30℃, it maintains an energy retention rate as high as 72%. It is reported that the 350Wh/kg solid-state battery used in the winter calibration tests has completed material and electrochemical system verification, achieved pilot-scale production, and has already passed over 120 national standard and industry stringent tests. Additionally, Dongfeng Motor has completed the construction and put into operation a 0.2GWh pilot production line for solid-state batteries. According to the plan, the 350Wh/kg solid-state battery is scheduled to officially enter mass production and be installed in vehicles in September 2026. Currently, Dongfeng Motor has established a fully independent platform covering “R&D – Trial Production – Pilot Testing”, has made breakthroughs in over 10 key core technologies, filed more than 180 invention patents, and has planned a multi-gradient product series ranging from 240Wh/kg to 500Wh/kg.
