Positioning within the Arrizo lineup The Arrizo S is described as a higher-positioned sedan within Chery’s Arrizo family, targeting the upper B-class segment with a stronger emphasis on performance and technology. This follows the expansion of the lineup, led by models such as the Arrizo 8, which introduced higher-output powertrains and updated transmissions in recent product cycles. Exterior design direction The model adopts Chery’s latest sedan design language, centred around a large hexagonal front grille and sharp headlight units. A fastback-style roofline and coupe-like proportions define the side profile, while the rear integrates a full-width taillight and layered bumper design. Blackened exterior elements and multi-spoke wheels reinforce the performance-oriented styling direction. The rear design adopts a full-width taillight and performance-oriented styling. Powertrain and performance Chery confirmed the Arrizo S will use a 2.0T turbocharged engine producing 192 kW and 400 N·m. These figures align with the upper range of Chery’s current combustion powertrains and are consistent with outputs seen in the latest Arrizo 8 variants. Transmission details were not disclosed at the show, although earlier Arrizo models have introduced Chery’s self-developed 8AT gearbox. Intelligent systems The Arrizo S is equipped with Chery’s Falcon driver assistance system, designed to support a wide range of driving scenarios, including urban, highway, and parking environments. The system is paired with high-computing hardware and is positioned as part of Chery’s broader push into integrated intelligent driving and chassis control technologies. Scaling up sedan ambitions The Arrizo S forms part of a broader product expansion presented by Chery at the Beijing Auto Show, where multiple concept and production models were introduced simultaneously. Within this lineup, the Arrizo S represents a move toward higher-performance combustion sedans, complementing both existing Arrizo models and newer electrified offerings. Sedan sales in China.
