The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) published the official catalogue listing on July 10, 2026, detailing the technical specification baselines for the new plug-in extended-range hybrid vehicle (EREV). This regulatory reveal follows earlier instances where the model was spotted testing as a larger offering positioned above its existing stablemates. The mid-size vehicle features a distinctive boxy silhouette measuring 4,636 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,855 mm in height, anchored by a 2,820 mm wheelbase. This unibody footprint accommodates a five-seat layout while incorporating a front track of 1,635 mm and a rear track of 1,642 mm. The physical design features short overhangs of 736 mm at the front and 1,080 mm at the rear to optimise ground clearance. Powertrain and battery The EREV system relies on a 1.5T range extender, designated as model SQRH4J15, which delivers an engine power output of 115 kW and a maximum net power of 105 kW. Energy storage is provided by a 33.679 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery pack featuring cells manufactured by Hefei Guoxuan High-Tech. This cell hardware configuration supports a pure electric driving range of either 145 km or 150 km (WLTC), depending on the specific equipment selection. Fuel consumption metrics under the WLTC standard range between 1.52 L/100 km and 1.54 L/100 km, supporting long-range operational flexibility. The mechanical layout provides a maximum speed capability of 180 km/h for the 2,720 kg gross weight vehicle. Power distribution and thermal stability parameters are engineered to support consistent electrical output across varied environmental conditions. Hardware and chassis The chassis architecture supports an optional towing package that alters the standard 24° departure angle down to 15°, while the approach angle remains fixed at 28°. Selecting this towing assembly increases the vehicle’s curb weight from 2,221 kg to 2,240 kg, enabling a maximum certified towing capacity of 1,800 kg. Braking efficiency is managed via a WBTL WCBS 2.0 integrated braking system supplied directly by Wuhu Bethel. Visual and structural options include 19-inch or 21-inch wheels wrapped in 255/55R19 or 265/45R21 tyres, along with a side-opening rear tailgate with an external storage compartment. The body styling utilises a modern closed-grille aesthetic combined with unique blind-window panels along the side profile to differentiate its design lineage. Consumers can also modify exterior styling elements by choosing from various logo placements or removing the active intake shutter system entirely. Smart driving tech Roof-mounted hardware options include a specialised LiDAR module, signalling an integration of advanced ADAS capabilities within this rugged vehicle platform. The vehicle is expected to employ a high-compute platform utilising Horizon Journey 6 silicon, delivering up to 560 TOPS of processing power alongside a single-stage end-to-end software architecture. This setup adds automated parking, highway navigation, and urban-assisted driving to the product lineup. The technical deployment expands upon the brand strategy established when the smaller iCar V23 EV entered the domestic market. Recent marketplace delivery trends show that iCar domestic retail sales fell 16.8% month on month to 5,032 units in June 2026, from 6,045 units in May 2026, according to China EV DataTracker. This technical expansion aims to stabilise market share, which stood at 0.3% in June 2026, by anchoring macro sales performance to a highly capable hardware architecture. The mid-size iCaur V25 features a unibody chassis with a 2,820 mm wheelbase.
