BYD announced that prices for the Denza D9 will start at £75,000 ($101,000) in the UK, undercutting other luxury MPVs on the market. BYD Denza D9 MPV prices and specs in the UK The D9 is now on sale in the UK as Denza’s fourth vehicle, BYD’s luxury sub-brand, following the Bao 5 SUV, Z9 GT, and Z. Available to order now, the premium plug-in MPV is offered in two trims: Elegance and Ultimate, starting at £75,000 ($101,000) and £85,000 ($115,000), respectively. Both models are equipped with a Super Hybrid Dual Mode Intelligent and All-Wheel Drive (DM-i AWD) powertrain. Advertisement - scroll for more content The setup uses two electric motors, one 227 hp (231 PS) in the front and another 60 hp (61 PS) in the rear, combined with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. A 58.5 kWh battery provides a pure electric range of 130 miles on a single charge. The engine mainly acts as a generator for the battery and electric motor, but can extend the driving range to up to 590 miles on a full charge and full tank. To go from 10% to 97%, it takes just nine minutes. Even at -30°C, it takes just 12 minutes to recharge (10% to 97%) fully. Inside, the D9 includes premium features such as leather-trimmed seats, a panoramic glass roof, a built-in cooler/ heater, plus a deviat sound system. Front passenger seats include heating, ventilation, and a 10-point massage function. A 15.6″ floating infotainment screen sits at the center with Google built-in alongside a 10.25″ instrument panel. A 12″ head-up display and 10.25″ passenger entertainment screen are also added. Rear passengers gain their own 12.8″ entertainment screen mounted on the back of the front seats. In four-seat mode, the maximum capacity is up to 2,310 liters. While it may seem a bit pricey, the Denza D9 is still cheaper than the Lexus LM hybrid, which starts at £97,645 ($131,500) in the UK.
