The premium model returns with a bolder look and full-width lighting to secure its place in the executive sedan market. It is built to directly challenge legacy combustion luxury options in this segment. This full-size platform adopts the second-generation Blade battery system alongside major chassis upgrades. The high-voltage architecture allows for rapid charging and excellent thermal management. Engineering teams also added premium chassis components to improve high-speed cornering stability under heavy loads. Powertrain and hardware The regulatory filings show the car measures 5256/1999/1510 mm with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm. The plug-in hybrid version pairs a 115 kW turbocharged engine with a 200 kW electric motor. This setup runs on a 54.489 kWh battery pack. Pure electric models offer a 370 kW rear-motor variant or a flagship all-wheel-drive setup that adds a 200 kW front motor, for a total of 764 hp. The platform can handle a nine-minute full charge using BYD’s new flash charging setup. Top-tier trims feature a roof-mounted LiDAR system for advanced driving assistance. Corporate market positioning The flagship sedan targets the 300,000 yuan (44,130 USD) executive segment to fight legacy Western luxury alternatives. BYD plans an entry-level version priced at 200,000 yuan (29,420 USD) to draw more buyers. These targets place the model in a highly competitive pricing window. This launch follows official teaser images detailing the new flagship design language. The company needs this car to revive its slowing presence in the premium sedan tier, where older models have struggled. Management counts on this updated architecture to anchor its high-end lineup. Competitive volume dynamics The Great Han faces an intense internal rivalry with the Ocean network sister car. The models share a tight price difference of 20,000 yuan (2,942 USD) to 30,000 yuan (4,413 USD). This internal race heats up as the group works to reverse a slump in registrations for its core technical portfolio. China EV DataTracker shows that domestic registrations for the older sedan dropped to 3,390 units in May 2026 and 2,834 units in April 2026. This is a noticeable decline from the 11,972 units registered in June 2025.
