The new Denza Z9 GT, or the world’s longest-range pure EV, as BYD claims, is headed to Europe, offering 5-minute fast charging and a WLTP range of nearly 500 miles. BYD puts Europe on watch with the new Denza Z9 GT EV BYD’s luxury sub-brand Denza revealed the new Z9 GT last month, deeming it “the world’s longest pure electric driving range vehicle.” Thanks to BYD’s new Blade Battery 2.0 and Flash Charging technology, the all-electric shooting brake can drive up to 1,036 km (644 miles) under CTLC conditions, and it can even recharge from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes. Measuring 5,195 mm long, 1,990 mm wide, and 1,480 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,125 mm, the Denza Z9 GT is about the size of the Porsche Panamera or Taycan. The single-motor variant features a rear-mounted electric motor with 370 kW (496 hp), while the tri-motor model delivers a combined 850 kW (1,140 hp). Now, BYD’s luxury EV is headed to Europe. BYD announced plans to launch the Denza Z9 GT on April 8, 2026, bringing its 5-minute Flash Charging system with it. BYD even recruited Daniel Craig, James Bond himself, to promote the new premium EV. Denza said the Z9 GT will set “a new benchmark for luxury in Europe, creating a new milestone.” Powered by its 122 kWh Blade Battery, the Denza Z9 GT will offer up to 800 km (497 miles) of WLTP range in the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) variant. The triple-motor version packs over 960 PS, enabling a 0 to 100 km/h time of less than 3 seconds. The Z9GT represents the true spirit of DENZA — where advanced technology, beautiful design and emotional driving come together,” BYD’s executive vice president Stella Li said. Even at -30°C, it takes only 3 minutes longer, replenishing the battery from 20% to 97% in 12 minutes. BYD has already installed thousands of Flash Charging stations across China and will begin rolling them out globally this year, starting with an initial wave in Europe. The Denza Z9 GT is available in China, starting at 269,800 yuan ($39,300). Denza is currently offering test drive vehicles at 129 stores across 87 cities in China.
