BMW revealed the new iX4, its new electric coupe-SUV that can drive up to 428 miles on a single charge. Meet BMW’s newest EV, the iX4 The iX4 arrives as a sportier, coupe-like sibling to the new iX3 SUV. Following the iX3 and i3, the iX4 is the third EV from BMW’s Neue Klasse lineup. Earlier this week, images of the iX4 leaked online with reports claiming it would make its official debut on October 8. The rumors proved true. BMW unveiled the all-new iX4 on Thursday, an all-electric replacement for the X4. Like the iX3 and i3, the new iX4 features BMW’s Neue Klasse minimalist design and technology. Both feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) powertrain. The standard 50 xDrive delivers a combined 468 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque, which BMW says is good for a 0 to 60 mph sprint in 4.7 seconds. The iX4 M60 takes it up a notch, packing a combined 603 hp and 645 lb-ft of torque with a 0 to 60 mph time of just 3.9 seconds. Prices, driving range, and a look at the interior BMW said the iX4 50 xDrive boasts an estimated range of up to 428 miles using a 112.2 kWh battery and its sixth-generation (Gen6) eDrive system. On the WLTP cycle, it gets up to 828 km (514 miles). Thanks to its 800V architecture, both models can add up to 184 miles of range in just 10 minutes with charging speeds of up to 400 kW. BMW says charging from 10% to 21% takes 21 minutes. The sportier design helps it achieve a drag coefficient of 0.23. Inside, the new iX4 adopts BMW’s Neue Klasse interior. As such, it features a 17.9″ central infotainment screen and 43″ Panoramic Vision that stretches across the base of the windshield. The M60 model comes with an exclusive M Sport steering wheel with a red marker at the 12 o’clock position, colored stitching, and shift paddles. It also includes two exclusive buttons to activate Boost Mode and M Mode. Like all BMW Gen6 models, the new iX4 supports bidirectional charging, letting it serve as a mobile power bank. It will also offer SAE Level 2 driver assistance systems with Highway Assistant, enabling “attentive hands-free driving” on the highway at up to 85 mph.
