Xiaomi Auto CEO Lei Jun officially announced that the Xiaomi YU7 GT is scheduled for launch at the end of May. Alongside the launch, Xiaomi will also debut the YU7 GT’s first exterior color, Crimson Red, and an interior color scheme named “Track Red.” Crimson Red is a rich, deep shade of red that, paired with the wide-body design and red brake calipers, further accentuates the vehicle’s performance-oriented and sporty character. The interior “Track Red” theme features a black-and-red two-tone design, with red contrast stitching on the door panels and seatbelts also upgraded to a sportier red hue. The front seats and passenger-side dashboard are both embroidered with exclusive “GT” badging, complemented by extensive carbon fiber trim, Alcantara sport seats, and a carbon fiber steering wheel, creating a thoroughly sporty atmosphere. YU7 GT interior Visually, the YU7 GT doesn’t stray far from the standard model’s design language, retaining the signature “teardrop headlights” and “halo taillights,” but the differences become apparent in the details. In terms of dimensions, the YU7 GT measures 5015/2007/1597 mm, compared to the standard model’s 4999/1996/1600 mm. The GT variant is wider and lower, with a sports car-grade wide-body design and a more muscular rear section that conveys greater visual strength. YU7 GT exterior At the front, the bumper has been redesigned with a more aggressive style: the active grille shutter has been removed, the lower intake is larger, and a front splitter has been added to enhance the sporty presence. Along the sides, wide fender flares, GT badging, optional lightning bolt decals, and 21-inch large-diameter wheels are visible, with the rear tires widened for better traction. At the rear, a large diffuser, repositioned fog lights, and an optional carbon fiber wing or electric rear spoiler complete the performance look. In terms of specifications, Xiaomi revealed that the new model features a front-and-rear dual-motor all-wheel-drive system with a combined maximum output of approximately 1,003 horsepower and a top speed of 300 km/h. A 101.7 kWh ternary lithium battery pack delivers a pure electric range of 705 km. Regarding the YU7 GT’s positioning, Xiaomi Auto officially stated that unlike the SU7 Ultra, which pursues extreme performance, the YU7 GT is positioned as a sports car-grade SUV suited for long-distance travel, requiring a balance between high performance, luxury comfort, and extended range. Xiaomi official responds to YU7 GT positioning It is reported that the YU7 GT has completed in-depth testing and calibration at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, with its core benchmarks being the Tesla Model Y Performance and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT. Regarding pricing, the current YU7 starts at 253,500 RMB(~$ 37297), and industry insiders generally predict the YU7 GT will be priced in the 450k–500k RMB(~$ 66208-73564) range. With such compelling specs as thousand-horsepower output, Nürburgring-tuned handling, and a 705 km range, whether these can drive further growth for Xiaomi Auto remains to be seen.
