Some have been in business for more than a century.Since introducing its first electric vehicle in early 2024, Xiaomi Auto has delivered more than 700,000 vehicles in China. The company now plans to bring its vehicles and smart mobility technologies to Europe in 2027.The agreements signed at IFA represent the first step in establishing Xiaomi Auto’s European retail and service network. The automaker plans to add more partners across the region as it prepares for the market launch.Yu Liguo, vice president of Xiaomi Auto and head of its international business division, said the company intends to make a long-term commitment to Europe. He identified localized cooperation—supported by Xiaomi Auto’s European R&D center in Munich and its expanding network of sales and service partners—as a central part of that strategy.Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing also announced the development on Weibo. According to Lu, Xiaomi Auto conducted extensive market research in Germany last year and held face-to-face discussions with numerous dealers. During this year’s Auto China in Beijing, representatives from the dealer groups traveled to Beijing to visit Xiaomi Auto’s factory.Models being prepared for overseas markets will undergo high-speed validation and functional testing at seven facilities across Sweden, Germany, Spain and Italy, including the Arjeplog winter-testing site and the Nürburgring.Xiaomi Auto launched its global website and official international social media channels in late August, opening direct communication with overseas audiences ahead of its planned European market entry in 2027.
