Recent field investigations and inquiries across direct-sales stores in Beijing, Wuhan, Shanghai, and Chengdu suggest that pre-orders for the new series may have already exceeded 100,000 units. The Xiaomi Skynomad series, built on the “Kunlun” technical architecture, consists of two extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) models: the N90, a large seven-seater SUV, and the N70, a large five-seater SUV. Both were introduced on July 30 with pre-sale prices of 299,900 yuan (44,100 USD) and 259,900 yuan (38,200 USD), respectively. The official launch is scheduled for September. As reported by Cailian Press, in Beijing, foot traffic at Xiaomi Auto stores has surged. One flagship store reported over 300 intention deposits, with the N90 being the preferred choice among consumers. In the Beijing-Tianjin area, cumulative pre-orders have reportedly surpassed 30,000 units, with a single-day peak of 4,800 deposits in Beijing on August 2. To support the launch, Xiaomi has implemented diverse retail strategies. While some regions use a hybrid sales model, cities like Wuhan have established dedicated Skynomad speciality stores. Sales representatives noted that the N70 is specifically positioned to compete with the Li Auto L7. With 499 Xiaomi Auto stores nationwide and average intention deposits per store ranging between 200 and 300 units, Cailian Press estimates the total pre-order volume may have topped 100,000 units. Regarding production capacity and delivery timelines, sales staff confirmed that the Skynomad series is already in production at Xiaomi’s second-phase manufacturing base in Beijing. The company aims to avoid the long waiting periods experienced during the YU7 launch, promising a steady supply of vehicles upon the September release. Consumers who order early are expected to receive their vehicles before the end of the year. The successful launch of the Skynomad series is critical for Xiaomi to meet its ambitious annual sales target of 550,000 vehicles. From January to July, the company delivered approximately 220,000 units, with the SU7 and YU7 pure-electric models averaging about 30,000 deliveries per month. To reach the yearly goal, Xiaomi needs to increase its monthly delivery average to approximately 45,000 units over the remaining four months of the year. Skynomad N90.
