Scotty Kilmer/YouTubeYouTuber and mechanic Scotty Kilmer has given his verdict on the Tesla Cybertruck, and he has called it a 'Cyberdisaster,' having been left very unimpressed by the Tesla EV. The mechanic even went as far as to say it is the worst vehicle ever made, and gave his thoughts in a recent video. The truck has been the subject of very divided opinion since it was launched and unleashed to the public. Its unusual design was one of the biggest points of contention, while other things, such as the interior, have also caused debate among customers. Add in the delays to the truck and its recalls, and it's easy to see why it's been so divisive.Kilmer did not hold back when he gave his opinions on the truck. He explored all aspects of it, including the exterior design, the paint, what it's like inside the EV, and what the Cybertruck is like to drive. He did so in his unusual, unfiltered, and hilarious manner, something that has helped Kilmer become such a big YouTube star.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe mechanic also spoke about the promises that Tesla gave when it came to how many of the trucks they wanted to sell. As we know, Tesla hasn't sold as many as they had hoped, leading to many trucks sitting unused at dealerships and even in huge parking lots. This Is What Kilmer Said About the CybertruckThe first thing Kilmer noted was the stainless steel construction. He noted how the material was pitting away, and noted that the same thing happened with the DeLorean DMC-12 sports car from the 1980s. He suggested there wasn't enough nickel in the steel, hence why it was becoming stained on the Cybertruck he was looking at. It was very clear on the hood how the steel was already suffering. Then he spoke about how the body panels are glued onto the car, and noted some parts already appeared to be falling off. Quality control has been a historic Tesla problem, and it's clear the Cybertruck also suffers in this area. If that wasn't enough, Kilmer really wasn't happy when he checked out inside the truck. "It's the opposite of Dr Who's Tardis," he said, noting it felt cramped despite the size.Originally, Tesla wanted to sell 250,000 a year, whereas in 2025, around 20,000 were actually sold. Plus, many were 'sold' to the SpaceX company, but that is a company that Elon Musk also owns. As far as Kilmer was concerned, that doesn't count. "Elon and his followers have lost their minds," he said. The Range When Towing Was Not the Best According to KilmerScotty Kilmer/YouTubeThe YouTuber noted how one of his customers towed a heavy load with the truck across 147 miles. But, he said this driver had to stop to recharge the truck three times. Add in how long it took to charge, and that added a lot of time onto the journey. If you want to charge the EV at home, it will also take a lot longer than at a Tesla Supercharger.AdvertisementAdvertisement"Not only does it look like a joke, but it drives like a joke too," added the mechanic. Kilmer also took offense at it being called a pickup truck, as it just wasn't as industrial a vehicle in his experience compared to a regular truck. The mechanic also had a lot of issues with the app and keycard, being unable to get into the EV or even start it up.The mechanic also noted that some insurance companies simply won't touch the Cybertruck. The weight of the EV and its battery layout mean they just won't want to get involved in case they are damaged or involved in a serious accident. It weighs over 6,600lbs or three tons, so it's certainly not a light vehicle. The pickup bed also isn't massive, so it's not as practical as other trucks. Why the Cybertruck Hasn't Sold as Well as Tesla HopedScotty Kilmer/YouTubeTesla has really struggled to sell the Cybetruck. It has already suffered some recalls, notably thanks to issues with the throttle and wheels, and the EV manufacturer just can't shift them. Many view the vehicle as an expensive gimmick, and it is priced far too high for what it is. Kilmer really did not hold back in his assessment, and it doesn't look like it can win him over anytime soon.If you want more stories like this, follow Guessing Headlights on Yahoo so you don’t miss what’s coming next.
