Sedans aren't as popular as they used to be in America, and those that have survived to see the 2026 model year are mostly powered by four-cylinder engines and hybrid systems. While those models, like the Toyota Camry or Honda Accord, can be just as powerful and even more efficient than the larger engines of old, there's something about the feel and sound of a V6 under the hood that isn't quite matched anymore. However, not all hope is lost; there are still five sedans sold in the United States for the 2026 model year that feature V6 engines paired with RWD drivetrains. These models are limited to luxury brands, including the Lexus IS, for example, so prices are higher than you might expect.Nevertheless, they're still out there and ready for a test drive today. All specs are sourced directly from the automaker. Pricing is correct at the time of writing, and excludes destination, options, taxes, and other fees. Automakers reserve the right to change prices at any time without notice. This list is organized in order by horsepower, from lowest to highest. 2026 Lexus IS Horsepower: 311 hp 2026 Lexus ISOf the five V6-powered RWD sedans still on sale in the United States, the least powerful model is the Lexus IS. That said, it's also one of the most reliable. Lexus is one of only a few brands left in America to offer multiple sedans (the IS, ES, and LS) — the IS is the cheapest model of them all. It's offered in six trims, with three of those being RWD and the rest getting AWD drivetrains. Every trim, regardless of drivetrain, is powered by the same 3.5-liter naturally-aspirated V6 that makes 311 horsepower.Power is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission in RWD versions. All three RWD versions can sprint to 60 miles per hour from a standstill in about 5.9 seconds, beating those with AWD by a tenth of a second due to decreased curb weight and a more efficient transmission. However, all trims are electronically limited to 143 mph. If you're looking for fuel efficiency, perhaps you should consider a four-cylinder model. On that note, the Lexus IS is relatively efficient, with an EPA-estimated 19 / 27 / 22 mpg (city / highway / combined). 2026 Porsche Panamera Horsepower: 348 hp 2025 Porsche PanameraThe most luxurious and most expensive model on this list by a long shot is the Porsche Panamera. Porsche's sports cars have been powered by flat-6, boxer-style engines for decades, but the four-door Panamera changes things up with a 2.9-liter six-cylinder engine in a traditional V configuration. Technically, buyers can opt for a V8 or a hybrid system in this luxury sedan, but the base model is equipped with a gas-only powertrain. The 2026 model isn't much of a bargain at $113,000 before destination and options, but finding a used model with the same engine can be your ticket to beating new BMWs in street races. With 348 horsepower, 368 lb-ft of torque, and standard rear-wheel drive, the Panamera can launch to 60 mph from a dig in just 5.0 seconds flat before reaching a top speed of 169 mph with summer tires. When equipped with the Sport Chrono package, its 0–60 mph time is shortened by two-tenths of a second. As for fuel efficiency, the base model Panamera gets an estimated 18/25/21 mpg. 2026 Cadillac CT5-V Horsepower: 360 hp 2025 - 2026 Cadillac CT5-VCadillac represents itself twice in this category; the less-powerful RWD V6 sedan the brand has to offer is the regular CT5-V. We know there's plenty of hype around the Blackwing variant with its impressive 6.2L supercharged V8 and plenty of other performance features, but the standard CT5-V is a more reasonable purchase for about forty grand less than the more extreme variant. For $58,300, buyers can leave the dealership in an all-American luxury sedan that's more comfortable and daily-able than its more powerful counterpart.360 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque is nothing to scoff at, even at the price point it's offered. According to Cadillac, that's enough to sprint to 60 mph in about 4.6 seconds. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a ten-speed automatic transmission, which helps it reach a top speed of 156 mph. The CT5-V can be optioned with all-wheel drive, but those with RWD get better fuel economy at 18/27/21 mpg city/highway/combined. Keep in mind that this is still a luxury sedan, though. It offers features like optional heated and massaging seats, a heated steering wheel, choreographed exterior lighting, and more. 2026 Genesis G70 Horsepower: 365 hp 2025 Genesis G70Despite being one of the most powerful RWD V6 sedans in America, the Genesis G70 is also among the most relaxing and luxurious. Some people might look at Genesis as a fancy Hyundai, but the truth remains that this is a special brand that offers engaging powertrains and a high-end experience to rival BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and other luxury automakers. The G70 is not the only V6 sedan in its lineup, either; the G80 and flagship G90 both offer V6 engines as well, but only come with AWD drivetrains. That said, the G70 is the least-expensive of the bunch. It starts at $43,450 before destination and options, but the cheapest way to get a V6 engine is to choose the 3.3T Sport Prestige RWD trim level at $53,600.With 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque, this unassuming luxury sedan can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in the mid 4-second range according to independent testing. It uses an eight-speed automatic transmission, Brembo brakes, multi-link rear suspension, a limited slip differential, and a variable exhaust valve system, to name a few sporty features. The EPA estimates this model to get 17/25/20 mpg. 2026 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Horsepower: 472 hp 2026 Cadillac CT4-V BlackwingFinally, the most powerful V6 sedan with rear-wheel drive available for sale in America for the 2026 model year is the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing. It's smaller than the CT5-V we talked about above, but its engine is larger and far more powerful. Being the Blackwing variant of this midsize sedan means the automaker gave it every sporty feature a buyer could ask for at this price point. Speaking of price point, even though it's the Blackwing, it starts at a relatively reasonable $63,600 before options — that places it in competition with the BMW M3, Auto RS3, and the Mercedes-AMG C63 sedan.Under the hood is a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 that makes 472 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque, which gets sent to the rear wheels via a standard six-speed manual transmission. Buyers can choose a ten-speed automatic transmission, too, which actually sprints more quickly to 60 mph. Cadillac claims a 3.9-second 0-60 mph sprint and a top speed of more than 189 miles per hour on the track. When equipped with an automatic transmission, the CT4-V Blackwing gets 16/24/19 mpg, while the manual transmission drops to 15/23/18 mpg.
