Anyone can put big dyno numbers in an auction listing, but that doesn't mean the car is actually drivable, or even fast off the line. This 2019 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 has evidence to back up its numbers. It has already covered the quarter-mile in 9.311 seconds at 147.57 mph, according to a time slip included with its listing. That's way quicker than Chevrolet intended when this sixth-generation ZL1 rolled out of the factory. Yet the car hasn't been stripped down into a barely streetable drag machine either, as it still has much of the equipment that made the ZL1 such a capable road car.AdvertisementAdvertisementNow someone else can take over the project. The Riverside Blue Metallic Camaro is currently being auctioned on Cars & Bids with approximately 11,500 miles on its odometer and a dyno sheet showing nearly four figures at the rear wheels. Its Supercharged V8 Makes 936 WHPImage Credit: Cars & Bids.A stock 2019 Camaro ZL1 uses Chevrolet's supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 producing 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque at the crank. This one makes 936 hp and 790 lb-ft at the wheels.Getting there required a substantial list of modifications. The factory supercharger has been X-ported by Kong Performance and works with a Katech 103-mm throttle body, Roto-fab Big Gulp intake, upgraded upper and lower supercharger pulleys, and a three-nozzle AlkyControl methanol-injection system.Late Model Performance supplied the cam kit, flex-fuel system, ECU and transmission tuning, heat exchanger, and front-bumper ice tank. Other upgrades include Johnson link-bar lifters, ARP head studs, Kooks two-inch headers and midpipes, and Stainless Works mufflers with NPP valves. All the power is still sent through the Camaro's 10-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels. It's Already A Nine-Second CamaroImage Credit: Cars & Bids.Putting more than 900 hp through two tires requires some additional preparation. This ZL1 rides on 18-inch Forgeline wheels up front and 15-inch beadlocks at the rear, with Mickey Thompson ET Street R tires providing the traction.AdvertisementAdvertisementLate Model Performance rear control arms are also fitted, while a BMR 15-inch brake conversion makes room for the smaller rear drag wheels. Together, the setup has already helped the Camaro record that 9.311-second quarter-mile at 147.57 mph.Despite those drag-focused modifications, the cabin is surprisingly civilized. Heated and ventilated power Recaro seats, leather and microsuede upholstery, carbon-fiber trim, a sunroof, and GM's Performance Data Recorder are all still present. The Auction Ends September 22Image Credit: Cars & Bids.Cars & Bids notes a couple of imperfections. There are dents in the trunk lid, and the seller says the passenger-side blind-spot monitor doesn't work. The Camaro comes with a clean Maryland title, two keys, its factory wheels, and a Late Model Performance remote tuning device. The seller purchased it in May 2023 and has driven approximately 4,500 miles since.AdvertisementAdvertisementBidding had reached $30,000 with five days remaining when the listing was cataloged, and the auction is scheduled to end September 22. There's also a reserve, so whether that figure is enough to buy a street-focused Camaro capable of nine-second passes is yet to be seen.If you want more stories like this, follow Guessing Headlights on Yahoo so you don't miss what's coming next.
