It is a more versatile version of the brand’s current bestseller. The Polestar 4 SUV will reportedly adopt the same performance, design, and sustainability. So, it will likely use an outdated 400V system. We have deliberately enclosed the “SUV” part in this newcomer’s name in quotation marks. The brand’s officials prefer to call it a sport utility vehicle. However, its proportions are much closer to the wagon segment. The body shape of the Polestar 4 SUV reminds us of Volvo’s estates, including the V60. Despite this car obviously not being a classic SUV, we will stick to the automaker’s naming. So, the Polestar 4 SUV will stay in line with its standard sibling. We will remind you that the original Polestar 4 begand production in 2023, with dimensions of 4845/2008/1544 mm with a wheelbase of 2,999 mm. It stands on the SEA modular architecture, which underpins a lot of vehicles from Geely Automobile. The original Polestar 4 The Polestar 4 adopts a 400V platform, offering two powertrain variants. The entry-level model has a single electric motor for 200 kW (268 hp). As for the AWD modification, it has two e-motors with a combined peak power of 400 kW (536 hp). Both versions come standard with a 100 kWh ternary NMC battery, suitable for 590 – 620 km of range under WLTP conditions. All in all, the Polestar 4’s powertrain is quite similar to the first-gen Zeekr 001, which is officially available in Europe. The Polestar 4 SUV in China. Despite this fact, it was previously reported that the Renault plant in South Korea will take care of the Polestar 4 SUV’s volume production as the ties between Geely and the French automaker are getting stronger. It is also worth noting that Polestar closed its final direct sales store in China in October 2025 due to insufficient sales volume. According to China EV DataTracker, Polestar delivered 287 units last year. Statistics for 2026 are unavailable. It seems that the Polestar 4 SUV won’t try to win back China, as other automakers have superior technology, including 800V platforms and advanced assisted driving systems.
