Image Credit: David Moss/XA man took to X to say he spent 14 minutes stuck inside a Tesla Cybercab and couldn't get out of the autonomous vehicle. The user stated that the Cybercab spent around seven minutes going around in loops, and it had become confused.David Moss took to social media to recount the experience, which involved him having to contact Tesla support to stop the Cybercab and let him out. The bizarre incident revealed a couple of the potential pitfalls of the autonomous taxis that have recently entered service in Austin, Texas.Moss uploaded the full 14-minute incident to his X account, and for seven of those minutes the EV was indeed just going around in loops. Moss said the car failed to reroute itself and kept going around and around, seemingly in a parking lot.The strange moment naturally gained plenty of interest online, and there were plenty of comments under the video. While the video highlighted the issues with the Cybercabs, it also showed that Tesla is quick to sort a situation like this out should it arise. Support was very quick to get on the line with Moss and bring the car to a stop. The Tesla Cybercab Was Stuck in a Loop14 Minutes Stuck In A Cybercab:Interesting edge case I just experienced in this Tesla RobotaxiIt failed to reroute itself & did loops for 7min trying to leaving pickup parking lot. Support got on the line & stopped the vehicle. It took them another 7 min to restart FSD.Construction crew was nice & moved their vehicle to try to help, S/O to them!No remote operator driving from what I tell— David Moss (@DavidMoss) October 5, 2026The video began with Moss in the Cybercab in a parking lot, and it was quite an interesting test for the vehicle. There are plenty of people who still doubt the technology, and with roadworks in the parking lot, Moss was keen to see how it would find its way out with the regular exit closed for maintenance. This is where the loops began. The Cybercab would drive up to the roadworks, and then loop itself back around and simply keep going around the parking lot. It kept going through the same gap, but rather than swing left to try and get out, it was just stuck in this strange loop. Skipping ahead in the video shows it keeps going round and round and round, seemingly unable to figure out what it should do.The construction workers at the site did try to help Moss with the situation. They moved a vehicle that they had parked to see if it would stop the EV from getting as confused, as it kept going around the parking lot. Sadly, it didn't help Moss. They must have been beyond confused, as the Cybercab simply kept going all around the parking lot. After around seven minutes, the EV seemed to finally give up on its quest to take Moss out of the parking lot. What Happened After the Cybercab Stopped? The EV then told Moss to exit the Cybercab, and Tesla support then got on the line after noticing what had been going on. A construction worker did come over to check on Moss, but with no pedals or steering wheel, he couldn't move the Cybercab himself. But the worker did move his vehicle out of the way to try to help the EV when it was reset. It took another seven minutes from the taxi stopping for the Tesla support crew to reset the full self-driving and get it back on the move again. It certainly showed one of the pitfalls of the Cybercabs. Moss said in response to another user on X that Tesla simply restarted FSD and potentially changed the route, which got it on the move again. If a Cybercab can't see that a parking lot exit is blocked and that another one is available, then we wonder how many more people may get stuck in the strange loops. After a few minutes, going around and around in circles must become quite disorienting. If you want more stories like this, follow Guessing Headlights on Yahoo so you don't miss what's coming next.
