Image Credit: Wham Baam Teslacam/XA day doesn't seem to go by without some truly incredible footage from a dashcam making its way to social media. This time, it is the turn of social media platform X to showcase something: a Tesla driver ramming into the back of a Jeep. That alone doesn't sound like a particularly exciting bit of footage. Intriguing and potentially amusing, perhaps. But nothing crazy. However, what has grabbed people's attention here is that the two cars seemed to have all the time in the world to prevent an accident, yet neither of them did.In particular, it is the length of time it took the Tesla to even think about braking that shocked a lot of people who watched the video. When one of the top comments simply reads "Had two weeks to stop," then you know that you could have done something about it.What makes the footage particularly damning is that the Tesla driver appears to almost steer into the Jeep it hits in a moment of indecision. It can't make up its mind about where it wants to go, and that in part causes the strange accident. How the Tesla Seemed to Sleepwalk Into the JeepIt took TWO MINUTES for the insurance company to stop blaming the Tesla driver after seeing this footage. https://t.co/cnmMSkSyzA— Wham Baam Teslacam (@WhamBaamX) October 3, 2026The footage shows a Jeep pulling out onto a road as it left a shopping mall, and the Tesla Model 3 Performance moved over to the left lane to give the SUV some space. However, the Jeep seemed to just wander over into the left lane anyway, rather than hold back or pull into one of the other lanes on the road. This seemed to catch the Tesla driver unawares, and he seemingly didn't know what to do. He then slammed into the back of the Jeep, causing significant damage to both cars. While we don't know what happened to the Jeep, the video posted by Wham Baam Teslacam on X suggested that the Tesla had been written off in the collision, and it did seem to take the brunt of the impact.According to the video, insurance initially blamed the Tesla driver for the accident. However, in a remarkable twist, after submitting the Teslacam footage, the insurance company decided it was the Jeep driver who was at fault. It apparently took just two minutes for the insurance company to change its mind on who was at fault. Yet rather than agree with what the insurance company decided, other users on X felt that it was actually more on the Tesla driver that this accident had taken place.Other Users Didn't Believe It Was All the Jeep's FaultImage Credit: Wham Baam Teslacam/XComments seemed to either solely blame the Tesla driver or say that both cars were at fault. Those in the camp of blaming the Tesla said its driver had days to brake and could easily see what was going to happen. Those who blamed both said the same, and added that the Jeep just wandered into the left-hand lane, knowing full well that the Tesla Model 3 Performance was in it. But most did seem to think that the Tesla driver was the one who was most at fault."Both people in this video should never be allowed to drive again," said one X user. "Had 2 weeks to stop," said another. One said, "Tesla driver at fault here, fairly obvious. I deal with at least 15 people a day that cut me off in this fashion; I've hit zero of them in my life," while another said sarcastically, "Every Tesla is delivered with this advanced, cutting-edge technology called a brake pedal. This one obviously went unused."Whoever you think is to blame, it's easily one of the weirdest accidents involving a Tesla caught on Teslacam. If you want more stories like this, follow Guessing Headlights on Yahoo so you don't miss what's coming next.
