It is expected to have big horsepower, make lots of noise, and it may even come with supercharging.What We Know About the New Chevrolet CamaroChevroletAt the moment, it is expected that the new, upcoming seventh-generation Camaro will ride on an updated version of General Motors' rear-wheel-drive Alpha 2 platform. Production is expected to begin in late 2027, and it will be offered as a 2028 model year muscle car. The car will be produced at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.As in the previous generation, a manual transmission is expected to be featured. This makes sense, as the Chevrolet Corvette C8 comes exclusively with an automatic transmission. So a manual performance car is certainly going to be a welcome addition to the GM lineup. But it will be heavily tuned to provide a good power increase over the standard models. One possibility is that the new 6.7-liter LS6 V8 engine could power the new Camaro.
