The move included a ceremony awarding a "Gold Product Team" designation for co-creation using Huawei's Qiankun full-stack native technology. This marks a new phase in the partnership between Dongfeng and Huawei — one defined by joint product definition, deep technological empowerment, and shared ecosystem success.Xu's delegation also toured Dongfeng's central R&D center, where they test-drove vehicles from the M-Hero and eπ brands and reviewed the latest achievements in vehicle design. As previously reported by Gasgoo, Dongfeng sold 1.05 million new energy vehicles in 2025 — a 21% increase from the previous year. Sales of its proprietary brands surpassed 1.5 million units, accounting for over 60% of total volume. Looking ahead, the company has set even higher targets for 2026: total sales of 3.25 million units, including 1.7 million NEVs and 600,000 exports. To support these ambitious targets, Dongfeng needs a stronger product lineup. The eπ X9, without a doubt, is a critical piece in this strategic puzzle. The eπ X9 made its global debut at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, with its competitive edge resting squarely on the Huawei full-stack intelligent solution it carries. Jin Yuzhi, CEO of Huawei's Intelligent Automotive Solutions BU, confirmed at the show that the new model will come standard with Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 and an 896-line lidar across the entire lineup. Furthermore, the vehicle features the Chitu platform, powered by the HUAWEI XMC Qiankun digital chassis engine, paired with an all-aluminum chassis typically reserved for luxury vehicles and tuned by a European engineering team. Jin's assessment was blunt: "It rivals flagship SUVs costing over a million."
