After completing his initial build, Tyler took the boat out and quickly realized a fatal flaw in his emergency shut-off logic."I did some research: electric motors are generators also; they do the same thing when power is not applied. If you spin them, they produce power," Tyler admitted to his viewers. Using an iPad connected to the inverter's Wi-Fi network, Tyler tweaked intricate performance parameters on the fly while carving through the water. Cruising at low speeds barely sipped 10 amps of power, but getting the boat on a plane demanded a massive 350-amp surge from the battery pack.Chasing 120,000 RPMDespite its impressive performance against the Nashville skyline, the Tesla-powered vessel is currently just idling. Traditional gas-powered built motors typically redline around 12,000 RPM, and standard jet pumps are engineered specifically for that operational ceiling.
