The outfit just pulled the cover off its first 4x4 in the Bronco Horizon Series, dubbed the "Desert Rising," which is inspired by some of the places only the likes of this iconic wheeler can take you.The Bronco Desert Rising package takes inspiration from the great state of Utah, home to some of the world's greatest off-roading trails and views. Ford didn't settle for the typical red rocks theme, however, instead taking things in a more unique direction. This particular SUV is inspired by the hues of a Coral Pink Sand Dunes sunset, the color of cactus flowers, and the pink and purple talgae blooms within the Great Salt Lake.AdvertisementAdvertisementThat's all to say that the truck is very, very pink.Given that most folks likely aren't familiar with these natural phenomena of the Beehive State, it's unlikely the truck will be pegged as a tribute to Utah on first look. Ford would prefer that you don't refer to it as the Barbie Bronco, however.FordThe package itself is centered around a Bronco Outer Banks model with the Sasquatch hardware, bringing highlights such as 35-inch tires, a high-clearance suspension setup, electronic locking differential at either axle, and a lower final drive for enhanced crawling capability. The Desert Rising setup adds an optional graphics package, a bespoke version of the brand's DIY front grille, beautiful white Method wheels, and a Magenta and Black interior from the folks at Katzkin. Customers will be able to choose from four base colors: Oxford White, Shadow Black, Avalanche Gray, and Ruby Red. Having spent time around a unit clad in the white paint, I think that combination will provide the right amount of contrast for the graphics.FordThe Desert Rising package for the Bronco is just the first in a series of trucks promised by Ford; it should be interesting to see what the Blue Oval uses as inspiration for the future models, particularly if other locales come with a more extreme parts list. That said, customers are going to need to be willing to pay up. This particular package is listed at $13,695, which bumps the price of the Outer Banks up to $57,350.
