The car will enter the domestic market in Q4 2025 and then will land in the UAE and other foreign countries. This model will sit right between the compact V23 and the large V27 SUVs. Chery initially launched the iCaur brand as iCar domestically. Its global name was later changed to iCaur, possibly to avoid complaints from Apple. We will keep calling this brand by the international name. According to China EV DataTracker, iCaur delivered 4,030 units domestically in July 2027. The newly released V25 SUV will aim to enhance the iCaur’s sluggish sales. The iCaur V25 crossover The V25 aligns with other iCaur’s models in terms of exterior styling. It is a boxy crossover with circular headlights, a flat roofline, a swing-out tailgate, and large side-view mirrors. Other fine features of the V25 include semi-hidden door handles, fixed side steps capable of supporting 130 kg, and a LiDAR sensor on the roof. The dimensions of this SUV are 4636/1920/1855 mm with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. The V25 rides on 21-inch wheels and boasts 197-mm ground clearance. Its approach and departure angles are 30 and 28 degrees, respectively. The car adopts an active air intake that can reduce drag by 15%. Every chance to reduce this number is vital for the V25, as it naturally has the aerodynamics of a brick due to its distinguishing body shape. The iCaur V25 From the back, the iCaur V25 does its best to look like a mix of the G-Class and the Defender. It has small horizontally aligned taillight units and pronounced fenders. There is a 22.7-liter storage compartment on the tailgate. Chery officials said owners can store umbrellas here. It’s good that the driver will be able to take a light shower on the way to the storage compartment during rainy weather. Jokes aside, this element looks like a decorative feature to make the V25 look more sturdy and capable. As mentioned, the new iCaur-branded SUV offers a LiDAR on the roof. It is a part of the Chery-developed Falcon Pilot 700+ assisted driving system, alongside 26 other sensors. They send information to a Horizon Journey 6P ADAS chip with a peak computing power of 560 TOPS (Trillion Operations Per Second). Credit: Autohome Interestingly, Chery didn’t disclose any information about the car’s powertrain and interior, as all the details will be shared at the launch ceremony in Q4 this year. However, the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) previously revealed that the V25 adopts a 1.5-liter engine with a peak power of 115 kW (154 hp) that works as a generator. The car has an LFP battery for 33.679 kWh. The entry-level model with RWD will offer 150 km of EV range and fuel consumption of 6.9 liters per 100 km with a depleted pack. The AWD variant will have 145 km of autonomy and consumption of 7.15 liters per 100 km. It will be able to tow 1,800 kg.
