The refreshed lineup adds new assisted-driving functions, upgraded cockpit hardware, and revised equipment packages across Chery’s core family SUV range. The Tiggo 8 Plus introduces Chery’s Falcon 500 assisted-driving system. Powered by a Qualcomm 8620 driving chip, the system supports highway Navigation on Autopilot (NOA), including automatic lane changes, obstacle avoidance, ramp entry and exit handling, tunnel adaptation, and construction-zone lane borrowing. Chery positions the model as a family SUV and identifies assisted-driving-equipped vehicles with a blue exterior marker integrated into the design. Exterior styling largely carries over from the existing Tiggo 8 Plus, including a polygonal grille and integrated headlamp design. Vehicle dimensions are 4,688-4,705 mm long, 1,860 mm wide, 1,747 mm high, with a 2,710 mm wheelbase. Inside, the SUV receives a 15.6-inch 2.5K infotainment display powered by a Qualcomm 8255 cockpit chip. Chery says its locally deployed AI voice model improves semantic recognition capability by 40%, achieves a wake-up rate above 98%, and responds to commands within 700 milliseconds. The system also supports Gaode Map navigation with traffic-light countdown functionality, smartphone connectivity, and one-touch vehicle modes including Baby Mode, Nap Mode, and Refresh Mode. Additional equipment includes an eight-point seat massage with five operating modes and three intensity levels, a 10-speaker Sony audio system, dual-zone climate control, and Chery’s C-Pure cabin air management system. Power comes from Chery’s Kunpeng 1.6 TGDI turbocharged gasoline engine, producing 147 kW and 310 Nm. Chery says the dual-hydraulic engine mount system improves vibration attenuation by more than 30%. Tiggo 8 Pro focuses on seven-seat practicality The Tiggo 8 Pro launches as a single variant and continues to target buyers seeking a seven-seat family SUV. Dimensionally, it measures 4,745 mm long, 1,860 mm wide, and 1,745 mm high with a 2,710 mm wheelbase. The cabin features dual 12.3-inch displays, a 24.6-inch panoramic screen, a Qualcomm 8155 cockpit processor, and 50 W wireless charging. A 5+2 seating layout supports 12 seating configurations. With the second and third rows folded flat, cargo capacity expands to 1,930 litres. The cabin also includes 26 storage compartments. The model comes equipped with a Level 2 driver-assistance package that includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, traffic-jam assist, integrated cruise assist, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, and speed-limit sign recognition functions. A 540-degree transparent camera system is also fitted. Safety equipment includes six airbags and an integrated cage-body structure reinforced by hot-formed steel in key areas. Power is supplied by the same Kunpeng 1.6 TGDI engine paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, producing 147 kW and 310 Nm. Chery quotes a combined fuel consumption of 7.2 L/100 km. The Tiggo 8 Pro adopts a 5+2 seating layout with cargo capacity up to 1,930 liters. Tiggo 8 receives Taklimakan Rally-theme The fifth-generation Tiggo 8 is being offered at special promotional pricing under Chery’s Taklimakan Champion program, launched alongside the conclusion of the 2026 Taklimakan Rally. The model is available in Comfort, Luxury, Premium, and Flagship trims. Buyers are offered a package of launch incentives that includes financing support, trade-in subsidies, roadside assistance, vehicle pickup and maintenance services, data packages, and a lifetime vehicle warranty for eligible first owners. The latest launch follows Chery’s broader Tiggo 8 product renewal. In November 2025, Chery introduced the 2026 Tiggo 8 with a 210 kW powertrain option and twin front-end styling themes. Shortly before that, the fifth-generation Tiggo 8 entered pre-sales in China with a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine. The Champion Family expands the lineup further by adding updated technology and equipment while maintaining the Tiggo 8’s position as one of Chery’s core SUV nameplates. Chery sales context According to China EV DataTracker data, Chery sold 30,520 vehicles in China in April 2026, up 3.8% from March but down 29.0% year-on-year. Domestic market share reached 2.2%. The brand recorded domestic sales of 29,411 units in March, 39,535 units in February, and 43,938 units in January.
