Bugatti may have moved on to the Tourbillon, but that doesn't mean it has forgotten what came before. The French marque just unveiled a gorgeous one-off restoration called the La Maison Pur Sang Veyron 20 Years. The unique build revitalizes the first hypercar of Bugatti's modern era with details borrowed from its successors, the Chiron and, yes, the Tourbillon.More from Robb ReportNicolas Ghesquière and Pat McGrath Teamed up on Louis Vuitton's First Beauty CollabThis $15 Million Big Bear Estate Puts a Contemporary Spin on the Classic Mountain HouseGlashütte Original's New Chronographs Take Cues From Horological HistoryAdvertisementAdvertisementThe Veyron is the reason why Bugatti, a famous automaker that had died and not quite been revived, is what it is today. First unveiled in concept form in Japan in 1999, one year after the brand had been acquired by VW Group, it wouldn't go into production for six more years. The wait was worth it because the bold-looking two-door with a W-16 proved to be an able successor to the Bugattis of yore, like the Type 35 and Type 57. It would remain in production until 2015, during which time just 450 cars would be built.Bugatti La Maison Pur Sang Veyron 20 YearsAs the name may have given away, the renewed Veyron is the handiwork of Bugatti's Le Maison Pur Sang heritage division. The team, which restored the first Veyron back in 2021, didn't just return this example to its original condition; it, under the guidance of the vehicle's owner, has updated it for today. The most visible change is the new two-tone finish that combines Rouge Rembrandt with Petrol Blue. The former hue was developed specifically for the new Tourbillon, while the latter is a trademark Chiron color. The vehicle's air intakes have also been outfitted with new three-dimensional mesh elements, and it now rides on a set of larger, staggered wheels (20 inches in the front, 21 inches in the back) that otherwise look identical to those found on other Veyrons. The hypercar's cabin has also been updated. The biggest change is to the center console, which now features a Côte de Genève finish that Bugatti says was inspired by fine watchmaking. The cabin is also covered in Magnolia leather with Moccasin stitching.Inside the La Maison Pur Sang Veyron 20 YearsThe car's announcement lacks technical details, but the Veyron, like the Chiron after it, was powered by an 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W-16. The most potent version of the mill, which was found in the Super Sport variant, made 1,183 hp and 1,106 ft lbs of torque. That version of the hypercar could rocket from zero to 62 mph in 2.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 267.856 mph.AdvertisementAdvertisementBugatti also hasn't said how much the restoration cost. But we imagine it runs into seven-figure territory, with the original car having cost at least $1.25 million and probably more.Click here to see more photos of the Bugatti La Maison Pur Sang Veyron 20 Years.Best of Robb ReportThe 2024 Chevy C8 Corvette: Everything We Know About the Powerful Mid-Engine BeastThe World's Best Superyacht ShipyardsThe ABCs of Chartering a YachtSign up for RobbReports's Newsletter.
