These models will be replaced with Neue Klasse models, with the i3 having already been revealed. As usual, though, BMW is expected to release a few special editions of these models before they bow out. That’s where the new Black Package comes in, an option on M Performance models—the M340i, M340i Touring, M440i GC, and i4 M60 GC. The package will give these sporty models an even more distinctive look before they sail off into the sunset.A More Sinister Look, Inside and OutBMW M340i with Black PackageBMW GermanyView the 3 images of this gallery on the original articleAdvertisementAdvertisementModels with the Black Package are only available when the M Sport Package Pro is selected too, which includes red M Sport brakes. BMW i4 M60 with Black PackageBMW GermanyWe do expect BMW North America to give these models a proper send-off, though, particularly the G20 3 Series, which has been a great return to form for the iconic sedan. Although BMW sells far more SUVs than sedans in the U.S., it still moved 8,189 3 Series units in Q1 2026, a 10.2% increase over the same period last year. This remains a core model for the luxury marque and we expect the G20 to get the farewell it deserves before the new, gas-powered 3 Series arrives.Related: BMW 3 Series Celebrates 50-Year Production Milestone and 18 Million Cars BuiltThis story was originally published by Autoblog on May 29, 2026, where it first appeared in the News section.
