It features the same trademark riveted aluminum body and dual-pane acrylic windows as the 22RB but is just under five feet shorter. The shortened length (it measures 17.3 feet bumper-to-bumper) means the vehicle features two fewer windows than its older (and bigger) sibling, but the tradeoff is that it's more nimble and even lighter, tipping the scales at just 3,150 lbs. The World Traveler has always been one of Airstream's lighter travel trailers, but the company says the 17RB can be towed by an even wider range of vehicles, including crossovers, SUVs, and lightweight pickups. The Airstream World Traveler 17RBThe 17RB may feature fewer windows, but that's about it as far as sacrifices go. The trailer also comes stocked with several useful creature comforts standard, including a 24-inch Smart TV, a ducted air-conditioning system, and a Truma Combi Eco Plus system that heats both the cabin air and water."We're giving customers across the globe another option to support flexible travel without sacrificing the comfort, craftsmanship, and thoughtful design that define the Airstream brand," the company's president and CEO Bob Wheeler said in a statement.Inside the World Traveler 17RBAirstream is already building the trailer in the U.S., with worldwide production set to begin this fall.
