Airstream's New Trailer Is Its Most Affordable YetAirstreamAirstream's most affordable model is the new World Traveler 17RB travel trailer. The compact silver-sided camper costs just $64,400, which undercuts the Bambi trailer by $4500.The 17RB has been designed with weight savings in mind to allow it to be towed by a smaller class of vehicles than Airstream's larger and heavier models. The Airstream lifestyle just got more affordable with the introduction of the new entry-level World Traveler 17RB. At $64,400, the 17-foot World Traveler model undercuts the company's previous entry point, the 16-foot Bambi trailer, by $4,500.AirstreamThe World Traveler line is new to the Airstream lineup, with a 22-foot model launching just last year. Like its longer sibling, the 17RB is built to be as light as possible, allowing it to be towed by a wide range of vehicles, including small SUVs and compact pickup trucks.AdvertisementAdvertisementCurb weight comes in at a svelte 3150 pounds, and the 17RB's gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) is 3500 pounds. That would make vehicles such as the Ford Maverick pickup truck or the Toyota RAV4 compact SUV eligible for towing duty.AirstreamThe 17RB's cabin is minimalistic, but not entirely out of step with Airstream's fancier models. To save weight, the brand's iconic wrap-around windows at the front and rear have been jettisoned in favor of smaller, rectangular ones made from acrylic.A fixed mattress at the back is the primary sleeping space, but it's about the size of a full mattress, so it might be a squeeze for two adults of above-average size to share. A dinette at the front can be converted into a bed should a second sleeping space be needed.AirstreamThe kitchenette features an expandable countertop for prepping ingredients and a two-burner gas-powered stovetop. A 2.1-cubic-foot refrigerator is standard, but an optional drawer-style refrigerator is available to expand capacity.AirstreamOther standard niceties include ducted air conditioning, a 24-inch flat-screen television, and an on-board water heater. You can add a microwave, a backup camera, and a rooftop solar panel to the mix for extra coin.AdvertisementAdvertisementAirstream says production of the World Traveler 17RB has already started, so the first deliveries to customers should happen sometime later this year. The company also says it plans to market this model in other areas of the world, but that production for those markets won't start until fall 2026.➡️ Skip the lot.
