Spy shots in China have confirmed Sky Nomad’s upcoming EREV full-size SUV to be named the “N90”. It will be Xiaomi’s first full-size SUV, and its first range-extender vehicle. Sky Nomad’s Chinese name, Xun Tian, roughly translates to “looking for the sky”. The N90 is expected to reflect this outdoor theme and has been spotted with a streamlined built-in rooftop tent. Many Chinese SUV rivals boast about their extra outdoor features, such as fold-flat rear seats and AC sockets for hot pots and grills. The N90 is expected to offer similar capabilities. Potential Specs and Trims The Sky Nomad N90 will feature a 1.5-litre turbo range extender and a 70+ kWh battery for 400-500km of EV range. The comprehensive cruising range may exceed 1500 km. A dual motor setup provides AWD functionality. CarNewsChina previously reported that Xiaomi implemented new battery procurement procedures for Sky Nomad models. Sunwoda will provide 60% of Sky Nomad’s packs, while CALB will supply the remaining 40%. Xiaomi aims to optimise costs and mitigate risks with this approach. Previously, the company relied on CATL and BYD’s FinDreams for batteries for the SU7 and YU7. Existing spy shots show the N90 with semi-flush door handles and 19-inch tyres. Higher trim levels may feature larger wheels. A roof-mounted LiDAR also hints at advanced assisted driving capabilities. The N90 is expected to be offered with air suspension and rear-wheel steering. Chinese sources put pricing at 200,000 – 450,000 yuan (29,500 – 66,500 USD), with an official reveal in Q4 2026. More on Xiaomi & Sky Nomad The “N90” name reflects the SUV’s positioning in the Chinese market. Fellow “9-series” new-energy (NEV) SUVs serve as full-size flagships for their brands, including SAIC’s IM LS9, Denza’s N9, and Li Auto’s L9. Xiaomi’s domestic deliveries, June 2025 to May 2026. Source: China EV DataTracker Xiaomi is doing well in China, with China EV DataTracker reporting 32,759 units delivered domestically in May 2026. It currently offers only two models, the SU7 sedan and the YU7 mid-size SUV. The SU7 is China’s third best-selling car, delivering 24,023 units in the same month. The Sky Nomad N90 will occupy a full-size niche in Xiaomi’s lineup, but whether it will be as well-received as its siblings remains to be seen. Source: Weibo – SugarDesign, Dou Dou Che, DSP-Charles
