Image Credit: chri99_/RedditImagine being the owner of a rare, fast, and extremely expensive Ferrari Daytona SP3 supercar. You'd want to enjoy the car, of course, but equally you'd want to look after it and not do anything stupid with your pride and joy, right? Sadly, it looks like one driver didn't get the memo.Over the last couple of days, images have emerged on social media showing one of those very supercars involved in a major crash during the Ferrari Cavalcade 2026. Reports suggested that the Daytona SP3 was being driven by a well-known Ferrari collector. The images show a wider shot of the accident, which also involved an Audi, as well as a close-up of the Ferrari involved in the crash. From the limited images we have seen, the Audi appears to have come off worse, but the Ferrari has also suffered significant damage.AdvertisementAdvertisementWe can only imagine what the repair bill is set to be on a car of this value. What is going to further impact the owner is that the car is finished in exposed carbon fibre, which will make any repair work a lot harder. What We Know About the AccidentVery little information has been shared about the crash, but there is enough out there to piece together what happened. It was reported that a severe summer storm was sweeping across the route of the Ferrari Cavalcade event, with heavy rain and hail making it a particularly treacherous drive. It was at this point that the Ferrari driver lost control. They lost it on the slippery road, and then collided with an oncoming Audi, which had both cars out of action. Images show the damage, with the Ferrari covered in a tarpaulin and the Audi next to it, with visibly a lot of damage to the front-end. Thankfully, it was also reported that everyone involved escaped without injuries.Other images showed the side of the Ferrari. The front-right area has taken a massive knock, with it appearing that the headlights are destroyed. It isn't clear if the car is a write-off, although it would appear that the Audi also involved in the smash definitely is. A repair bill for the Ferrari will be expensive enough, but something else will make repairs even trickier.Carbon Fibre Construction Will Make Repairs to the Ferrari HardImage Credit: chri99_/RedditThe owner of this particular Ferrari will have to work out what to do with the exposed carbon fibre body. Repairs on this will not be easy, due to the workshop having to match the weave of the carbon fibre and ensure the car is still structurally sound. Maintaining the originality of the Ferrari may also be a struggle, depending on how many parts of the supercar need replacing. It is not going to be an easy task.AdvertisementAdvertisementOther photographs have shown the Daytona SP3 out and about during the cavalcade before the accident. The supercar certainly looked the part in the exposed carbon. Ferrari has made just 599 units of the supercar, making it incredibly rare. Power comes from a 6.5-liter F140 HC V12 engine producing 829hp as well as an incredible soundtrack. Hopefully, in this owner's case, there is no damage to the Ferrari's engine. Otherwise, that really could be game over for this supercar. If you want more stories like this, follow Guessing Headlights on Yahoo so you don't miss what's coming next.
