Image Credit: @1jour.2plus/InstagramSomeone looks to be in a spot of trouble after footage has emerged showing a Ferrari Purosangue having taken a battering with some serious front-end damage. Instagram footage shows an example of the Ferrari SUV that seems to have taken a huge knock. The Ferrari Purosangue was certainly controversial when Maranello released the car, although not to the same extent as the Ferrari Luce EV. Many bemoaned the fact that the Italian manufacturer was producing such a car, although the company was at pains to actually call it an SUV.Ferrari called it an FUV, or 'Ferrari Utility Vehicle', but to the rest of us, it was clearly an SUV. But as it had big V12 power under the hood, it raised a few eyebrows, and there have been plenty of positive reviews for this rather unusual car.AdvertisementAdvertisementHowever, even though the idea of a Ferrari SUV may not be universally popular, nobody wants to see one of Maranello's cars smashed up and written off. This particular one looks to have had its smash somewhere in France, or potentially Monaco, and there are quite a lot of onlookers, all desperate to catch a glimpse of the car.How Badly Damaged Was the Ferrari Purosangue? It's quite clear from the video that this SUV has taken a lot of damage. Instagram user @1jour.2plus posted the footage to their account, opening with the car standing and smashed up, with its hazards flashing at an intersection. The back has escaped major damage; however, the front has not been so lucky. At the front, we can see a huge amount of damage. The front-left portion of the bodywork is badly bruised, with the hood also having been pushed open. Parts of the bodywork are hanging off, while the middle portion of the fascia has been pushed inwards. More worryingly for the owner is what we can see underneath the car.Clearly, this Purosangue has taken a massive knock. There is a lot of liquid lying underneath the SUV, suggesting lots of fluid has leaked out of somewhere. Sadly, we don't really know how badly damaged the car is under the skin. The engine has potentially suffered extensive damage; if not physically, then potentially due to the shock of the impact. Another alarming sign is that the airbags inside have all gone off, which suggests the impact with the wall or another vehicle was a big one.We Don't Know What the Car HitSadly, the video doesn't confirm what the SUV had hit. Given where it is in the road, it's highly likely it collided with another vehicle, although we can't see one in the video. The license plate indicates the car may have come from Germany before it was involved in the smash. Ferrari might want to think twice before letting this particular owner get their hands on another of its cars.AdvertisementAdvertisementIn other Ferrari Purosangue news, the facelifted version of the SUV was spotted during testing at the start of August. Ferrari is preparing an update for the car, and we recently got to see it being driven around the company's Maranello headquarters. Thanks to its camouflage paint scheme, however, we weren't able to get a clear view of any of its important details. If you want more stories like this, follow Guessing Headlights on Yahoo so you don't miss what's coming next.
