This Twin-Turbo Corvette Stingray Packs More Power Than The C8 ZR1

The Chevrolet C8 Corvette ZR1 claims to be the fastest supercar which costs less than $1 million. However, Specialty Vehicle Engineering has taken the base Corvette Stingray to new heights that can challenge the 2025 Corvette ZR-1's might.

By modifying the naturally aspirated LT2 V8 engine, SVE's special tune improves performance up to 1200 hp, far more than the ZR-1. Christened as the 2025 Yenko/SC C8 Corvette, this supercar upgrade package will be exclusive to just 50 units, which will make it quite rare.

Stripped And Upgraded The LT2 V8 Inside Out For 1200 HP

The base C8 Corvette Stingray uses the 6.2-liter LT2 pushrod V8 with a crossplane crank. In its stock state of tune, it can make up to 495 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque with the optional performance exhaust upgrade.

Specialty Vehicle Engineering tore apart the engine and upgraded the internals with forged H-beam rods, forged 2618 aluminum pistons, ARP high strength head and main studs, CNC ported high-flow cylinder heads with upgraded valvetrain for the Stage 1 tune to make 1,000 hp.

For the Stage 2 upgrade, the Yenko/SC C8 Corvette slaps on a pair of Garrett 58mm ceramic ball bearing water cooled turbochargers, high and low pressure fuel systems and auxiliary port injection. With its flex-fuel compatibility running E85, the Stage 2 twin-turbo Yenko/SC Corvette improves power output to a staggering 1,200 hp. The 8-speed twin-clutch gearbox also received upgrades for durability.

The Corvette Stingray accelerates from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds, and the ZR1 can sprint the same in 2.3 seconds, and reach 233 mph. Specialty Vehicle Engineering has not confirmed the performance figures for the upgraded C8 Corvette Stingray, but given the upgrades and 1200 hp, we don't expect it to be any slower in acceleration than the ZR-1.
