The dash shows 5.6 mpg after one hour and 27 minutes. The six-wheel conversion adds length but zero additional passenger room. Polished fabrication is undermined by deeply unflattering auction photos. There are bad ideas, great ideas, and ideas pursued with such commitment that they somehow become impressive no matter what. This six-wheeled Ford EcoSport belongs in that third category. Its dashboard shows 5.6 mpg, the second row remains comically cramped, and it has been presented with some of the least flattering photos we’ve seen on Bring a Trailer. Somehow, bidding has already climbed beyond $6,000. Here’s the important part… the actual conversion appears to have been done remarkably well. Turning an ordinary 2019 EcoSport Titanium into this stretched, six-wheeled billboard must have consumed untold hours of cutting, fabrication, fitting, refitting, painting, and finishing. The builder added an extra rear body section and subframe, fabricated filler panels, preserved the side-hinged tailgate, carpeted the enlarged cargo compartment, and topped everything with a gloriously unnecessary (and almost certainly detrimental, in terms of performance) roof wing. The added panels appear reasonably well-integrated, the black paint is cohesive, and all six 17-inch wheels match. Whatever you think of the underlying idea, someone followed it through to the bitter-ish end. Unfortunately, nearly all that effort went into extending the EcoSport behind its rear doors. That means passengers still get the same cramped second row found in the standard crossover. At least there’s considerably more cargo space. The original purpose was reportedly to create a rolling billboard. In that light, the windowless side panels and extended cargo area make some sense. Power comes from Ford’s naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder producing 166 hp (124 kW/168 PS) and 149 lb-ft (202 Nm) of torque. The factory all-wheel-drive system powers the front and middle axles, while the rearmost pair simply follows along. That brings us to the dashboard photo. The trip computer shows the vehicle has been running for one hour and 27 minutes while averaging an astonishing 5.6 mpg. We achieved more in the 2027 RAM TRX around town. We don’t know how much of that time was spent idling or maneuvering for these spectacularly unspectacular photos, so it may not represent normal driving. But still, seeing single-digit fuel economy in an EcoSport is quite an achievement. Finally, we have to discuss the photography here because plenty of BaT photo stacks can make an everyday car look like it belongs on the lawn at Monterey Car Week. This gallery nearly performs the opposite trick. After all the apparent care invested in creating and finishing this one-off machine, the seller seemingly decided that composition, lighting, and presentation were optional extras. That’s especially unfortunate because the seller bought it in 2025 and has driven it approximately 500 miles. The EcoSport reportedly sold at Mecum last year for $9,350, after being advertised for $16,500 when we first saw it in 2023. It now carries a rebuilt salvage title following front-end accident damage and is being offered without reserve. So, who is paying $6,000 or more for it? Possibly a business that wants an impossible-to-ignore promotional vehicle. Maybe a collector of automotive oddities. Perhaps someone who realizes that $6,000 is remarkably little money for this much custom fabrication, even if the finished product answers a question nobody remembers asking. The appeal certainly isn’t practicality, passenger comfort, performance, fuel economy, provenance, or photography. But as a rolling conversation starter, it may be unbeatable in terms of value.
