His favorite canvas to work on was the Porsche 911, although he added other models later on. He continued doing extreme builds until his murder in 2010. But while he's no longer with us, the company he founded continues to this day.Fast forward to 2018, and it's Marc Philipp Gemballa stepping up to the plate, continuing his father's legacy on his own terms. He launched his own company, Marc Philipp Gemballa GmbH, and teased his first car in 2020. Two years later, the Marsien was born as a hat tip to the iconic Porsche 959 Dakar rally racer from the '80s. What a way to announce your arrival in the car-building business. The Next StepBilled as an off-road supercar, the Marsien was based on the 992 Turbo and has been a success for Marc Philipp Gemballa, with all 40 cars sold in practically no time. But the younger Gemballa has no plans of resting on his laurels. If anything, he's just getting started.AdvertisementAdvertisementFor his next act, he just rolled out the evolution of the Marsien. Dubbed the Marsien GT, it's a more road-oriented version of the original car. The company calls it the next chapter in the Marsien story, and it'll be even rarer than the first model. Only 30 GTs will be made, capping total Marsien production at 70 cars as a tribute to Uwe Gemballa's 70th birthday.Marc Philipp GemballaStill ExoticThe GT isn't just a lowered Marsien, but rather, a totally re-engineered version of it. It still uses the 992 Turbo as a basis, but the suspension system is a totally bespoke arrangement made with KW Automotive. It has electronically controlled dampers with electromagnetic valves, along with a front-axle lift system to help clear steeper ramps. It also has an enhanced aero system, with on-road performance in mind. The GT comes with active aero with front louvers and a rear wing that move around to provide optimal grip. The flat underbelly of the car is then made from carbon fiber, helping channel air to the more prominent diffusers. For the engine, it's a twin-turbocharged flat-six engine that's been massaged by RUF, another legendary name among Porsche circles. RUF extracted 830 hp and 686 lb-ft out of it, considerably up from the 992 Turbo S' 711 hp and 590 lb-ft rating. If that's still not enough, the company will gladly raise horsepower to 'over 900 hp' for good measure. The exhaust is then a bespoke piece made by Akrapovic.Marc Philipp GemballaAnd the Price?Of course, something this unique, exclusive, and powerful built from exotic materials won't be anywhere near affordable for mere mortals. It's €770,000 (approx. $888,300) net of all taxes, duties, and shipping just for the build. You'll need to buy a 992 Turbo first, and a brand-new one right now will set you back another $270,300. Of course, it helps if you already have one sitting in your garage right now.AdvertisementAdvertisementFor those interested, the car will make its first public appearance at Pebble Beach from August 13 to the end of Monterey Car Week on the 16th. Unless your neighbor plans to get one, this might be the only chance to see one up close.Marc Philipp GemballaMarc Philipp GemballaView the 5 images of this gallery on the original articleThis story was originally published by Autoblog on Aug 11, 2026, where it first appeared in the News section.
