Driver Finds Porsche Blocking Parking Garage—Then Realizes What Actually HappenedGuessing HeadlightsOlivia RichmanSat, September 19, 2026 at 6:05 PM UTCAdd us on GoogleImage Credit: KrazyKob / TikTok.A Porsche sitting across the travel lane of a parking garage looked, at first glance, like an especially bold parking job.The driver who encountered it was not impressed. The car appeared to be blocking the one-way lane while the surrounding vehicles sat normally in angled spaces. Then he got out of his own vehicle and walked toward the Porsche. What looked like terrible parking suddenly made considerably more sense: the Porsche appeared to have rolled backward out of its space and into another parked car.A Closer LookEmbedded media follows; please allow a moment to load. The encounter was recorded by TikTok creator KrazyKob, who initially believed someone had simply left the Porsche in the middle of the parking garage lane.AdvertisementAdvertisement"This is the lane to go," he says while approaching the car in the video. "This mother-piece parked in the road. Literally in the road!"He points out that the angled spaces indicate traffic moves one way through that section of the garage. The situation becomes stranger when he stops and gets out for a closer inspection. The Porsche is not merely sitting in the lane. Its rear end has reached another parked vehicle. That changes his assessment."Oh, the car rolled out of — it's in neutral, and it rolled out of its spot," he says.He concludes that the Porsche is a manual-transmission car that had been left without the parking brake holding it in place. With the garage floor on a slight grade, the car apparently rolled backward until the neighboring vehicle stopped it.AdvertisementAdvertisement"Oh, that sucks," he says. "They're gonna be so pissed."More Than EmbarrassingAn unattended car creeping across a parking garage may look like a relatively minor mishap when another parked vehicle is the only thing in its path.National crash data show why rollaways can become far more serious. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimated that unattended rollaway vehicles killed 816 nonoccupants and injured 7,727 from 2017 through 2021.That works out to an annual average of 163 deaths and 1,545 injuries.NHTSA defines those cases as rollaway vehicles that are unattended with no driver in control. Its figures cover non-traffic crashes, a category that includes incidents in parking facilities and driveways as opposed to crashes occurring on public trafficways.AdvertisementAdvertisementIn 2021 alone, the agency estimated that rollaway vehicles killed 210 nonoccupants and injured another 1,435.One Extra StepNHTSA's vehicle rollaway guidance tells drivers to engage the emergency or parking brake whenever they park.Although some of the federal guidance focuses on automatic-transmission vehicles and ensuring those vehicles are actually in Park, the parking brake provides a separate way of keeping a stationary vehicle stationary.AAA recommends using it every time a vehicle is parked, including on level ground rather than reserving it for steep hills. In the parking-garage video, that distinction only becomes apparent after KrazyKob gets close enough to see where the Porsche ended up.AdvertisementAdvertisementHis irritation turns quickly into sympathy. In a text overlay, he distilled the episode into a simpler lesson: don't "get heated too quick."If you want more stories like this, follow Guessing Headlights on Yahoo so you don't miss what's coming next.
