RAMThe new Ram Rumble Bee has certainly caused a bit of a stir following its launch, with the company giving us a new street truck with lots of horsepower under the hood thanks to a supercharged Hemi. It is a dream for pickup truck fans, and one they have all taken very well after first impressions.Ram as a whole seems to be leaning into V8 power again, in a big way, hence the decision to put this rather incredible machine into production. But Ram products have had one problem over the years, and that has been the auto stop/start feature. A feature that has bugged drivers of the company's products for several years. However, there has been a sigh of relief recently that the pickup manufacturer has decided to bypass the system entirely. Thanks to a rollback on a mandate from the EPA earlier in 2026, this fuel-saving feature and annoyance is now completely absent from the Ram Rumble Bee.AdvertisementAdvertisementFor a lot of drivers, this will come as great news. Given this is a truck all about performance, a feature designed to save fuel seemed slightly counterproductive. However, it is now gone, and it may be that future Ram performance vehicles also lack the feature. Why Has Ram Removed the Auto Stop/Start System?RAMThe removal of the auto stop/start feature came after a move earlier in 2026 from the EPA to roll back a mandate, as ordered by the Trump Administration. A whole host of emissions standards were put in place over the past few years, with a number of these now rolled back by the current administration. The stop/start feature is one of those that was rolled back on.The system was introduced to allow federal fuel economy and greenhouse gas targets to be met by various automakers. When a car stopped, the engine would shut down and then restart when the driver was ready to move again. The idea was that fuel waste would be reduced, and it would improve the efficiency of a vehicle if it were stuck in stop/start traffic. However, the feature was never a favorite among road users. Many found it annoying, and it was never a feature adopted on every single car produced. While the move doesn't stop manufacturers from adding it if they so wish, the feature won't be incentivized through federal regulations. For Ram Rumble Bee owners, this is excellent news.Ram Drivers Will Love Not Having the Stop/Start SystemsRAMGiven that the Ram Rumble Bee is a massive V8-powered pickup truck, fuel saving was never at the heart of what it was built for. So adding the feature to the truck did seem counterproductive. But the market it was aimed at would just find the feature too annoying, and Ram seems happy to move away from it, given that it is being removed from the truck altogether. It is a big change in direction for a company that very recently had been leaning in hard with electrification.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe Rumble Bee has been a welcome addition to the pickup truck world. At the top of the tree is the Rumble Bee SRT, with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine making 777hp with a 0-60mph time of just 3.4 seconds. This is the same V8 engine used in the Ram TRX. The Rumble Bee 392 boasts a 392ci 6.4-liter V8 with 470hp, while the regular Rumble Bee comes with a 395hp 5.7-liter V8 engine. The truck should have a top speed of 170mph, making it one of the fastest pickup trucks ever produced. The truck will go on sale in late 2026, with deliveries taking place in 2027.If you want more stories like this, follow Guessing Headlights on Yahoo so you don’t miss what’s coming next.
