The 2027 Ram ProMaster City is back after being retired in 2022, and seemingly just in time, too, as a viable commercial solution made even stronger by its sub-$40,000 starting price.The City starts at $39,995 for the base Tradesman Cargo grade, well below today's average price for a new car. Standard features on all include a digital rearview mirror, digital instrument cluster, 10-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and heated front seats. Upgrading to SLT brings front parking sensors, a wireless phone charger, a heated steering wheel, fog lamps, body-color fascias, and 17-inch two-tone aluminum wheels.The 2027 Ram ProMaster City Tradesman Cargo van.StellantisAll versions are powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder producing a claimed 166 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. That's sent to the front wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. Maximum towing capacity is 2,000 pounds, as is payload capacity. Stellantis also says the van can fit into most urban garages, which is the whole point of the City: Sometimes you just need a smaller van to get the job done.StellantisAmong commercial vans, other options are the regular Ram ProMaster, Ford Transit, Chevy Express, and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.
