Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) has rolled out summer purchase incentives for Model 3, Model Y, and Model Y L buyers in China, offering five-year interest-free financing with monthly payments starting at 2,460 CNY (c. $363). The offer covers orders placed by July 31, 2026, with delivery subject to the terms listed at the time of order and to the buyer's loan qualification. The headline plan is a five-year, zero-interest loan available on the Model 3 rear-wheel-drive, long-range rear-wheel-drive, and long-range all-wheel-drive trims, plus the equivalent Model Y trims. It requires a down payment of 79,900 CNY (c. $11,770), with monthly payments of about 2,460 CNY (c. $363) for Model 3 and 3,060 CNY (c. $451) for Model Y. For the seven-seat Model Y L, the down payment rises to 99,900 CNY (c. $14,710), with monthly payments near 3,985 CNY (c. $587).Tesla is also offering a lower-commitment path: a one-to-five-year loan with a down payment as low as 45,900 CNY (c. $6,760) and an annual percentage rate starting at 0.5%. A third structure, the "Easy Loan" flexible five-year plan, requires 55,900 CNY (c. $8,230) down and carries a balloon payment of 45,500 CNY (c. $6,700) for Model 3 or 52,700 CNY (c. $7,760) for Model Y, at rates as low as 0.99%. In Tesla's own example, a Model 3 priced at 235,500 CNY (c. $34,680) combined with an 8,000 CNY (c. $1,180) insurance subsidy can bring the monthly payment down to about 2,193 CNY (c. $323). Tesla paired the financing push with a limited-time 8,000 CNY (c. $1,180) discount on optional paint colors across all three models, part of what it calls its July "exclusive" benefits. Buyers can also choose among three charging packages: a single-phase home charging bundle for 1,499 CNY (c. $221), a three-phase version for 3,299 CNY (c. $486), or a Supercharging service package priced at 1,299 CNY (c. $191) for 2,300 kWh of credit. The promotion spans Tesla's China-built sedan and SUV lineup. The Model 3 rear-wheel-drive trim carries a CLTC-rated range of 634 km (394 miles) and accelerates from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 6.1 seconds, according to Tesla's own specifications.Pricier long-range and performance versions of Model 3 extend CLTC range past 800 km (497 miles) and cut acceleration to as low as 3.1 seconds. Model Y and Model Y L share the same drivetrain family but carry higher base prices, reflected in their larger down-payment thresholds under the financing plans. The campaign lands as Tesla and its China-based rivals lean on financing incentives rather than outright price cuts to stimulate demand during the traditionally slower summer sales months. Tesla has repeated variations of the five-year, 0%-interest offer several times over the past year, including a January 2026 round that paired the same 79,900 CNY down payment with monthly payments closer to 1,918 CNY.Tesla notes that the down payment and monthly figures in its examples are illustrative only, and that final terms depend on the lending institution's review of each buyer's credit application.Whether financing incentives alone can hold Tesla's share of China's EV market against increasingly aggressive local rivals is a question the next few months of delivery data should start to answer.Conversion rate: 1 USD = 6.79158 CNY as of June 30, 2026
