This strategic move aims to oversee the sales, distribution, manufacturing, procurement, and R&D of Dongfeng’s New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) across designated European markets. According to the preliminary proposal, the joint venture will be headquartered in Europe and led by Stellantis, with Stellantis and Dongfeng holding 51% and 49% stakes, respectively. The partnership will initially focus on the sales and distribution of high-end NEV models from the Voyah brand, while also facilitating joint procurement and engineering research projects. Sources familiar with the matter revealed to National Business Daily that the two automotive giants are currently exploring the feasibility of localising Voyah production at Stellantis’ Rennes plant in France. Voyah has already entered 40 countries and regions with more than 240 overseas sales outlets. In April 2026, the brand launched its “Three Major Actions” strategy – “Deepening in Europe, Layout in the Middle East, and Entering Right-Hand Drive (RHD) Markets.” As part of this global acceleration, Voyah plans to launch the RHD version of the Voyah Dream in the second half of this year. “The plan announced today elevates the recently strengthened partnership between Stellantis and Dongfeng to a new level of international cooperation, which will benefit customers worldwide,” said Antonio Filosa, CEO of Stellantis. “This collaboration leverages Stellantis’ global footprint and Dongfeng’s deep connection to China’s advanced NEV ecosystem to offer customers more competitive product and pricing options.” Yang Qing, Chairman of Dongfeng, stated: “Dongfeng will further consolidate and expand its strategic cooperation with Stellantis. Through the synergy of technology, branding, and global markets, we aim to drive greater efficiency in our joint venture, accelerating Dongfeng’s global layout while supporting Stellantis’ global strategic shift and its presence in China.” This announcement follows a May 15 agreement where both groups pledged further support for their long-standing Chinese joint venture, Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën Automobile (DPCA). Starting in 2027, the DPCA plant in Wuhan will begin producing new NEV models for the Peugeot and Jeep brands for global export. Voyah’s sales performance. Voyah is the high-end new energy brand under Dongfeng. Over the past 12 months, its monthly sales have consistently exceeded 10,000 units, with the sole exception of February this year due to the impact of the Lunar New Year holiday.
