Rolls-Royce Marks US 250th with Three One-OffsRolls-Royce Motor Cars North AmericaRolls-Royce built three new commissions for American clients that commemorate our nation's 250th anniversary. The Rollers are a red Cullinan, white Phantom, and a blue Ghost. Yes, that's red, white, and blue.No word on prices, but if you have to ask...Apparently, the British have gotten over that little spat 250 years ago and have come to appreciate and even depend on the American market. To commemorate our nation's 250th anniversary, Rolls-Royce, perhaps the most quintessentially British brand ever, has marked our semiquincentennial with the commission of three bespoke Rollers. Here's how they describe each:Bohemian Red Cullinan—representing the strength, courage, and entrepreneurial spirit that has defined America for 250 years.English White Phantom—reflecting the nation's founding ideals, timeless elegance, and enduring pursuit of excellence.Iguazu Blue Ghost—symbolizing innovation, optimism, and the limitless horizons that continue to define the American spirit.Rolls-Royce Motor Cars North AmericaThe three colors, obvs, paid tribute to the colors of the Stars and Stripes. Jolly sporting of them, what?AdvertisementAdvertisementThe celebration took place at no-less a British location than the Residence of His Majesty's Ambassador to the United States in Washington, DC. The Georgian home of Sir Christian Turner is situated in the Embassy Row neighborhood on the same campus as the main British Embassy. Each commission was handcrafted at Goodwood, England, the Home of Rolls-Royce, for American clients. Created exclusively for the occasion of the 250th anniversary, the three bespoke commissions represent a celebration of American heritage interpreted through British craftsmanship."Designers, engineers, and artisans transformed each motor car into a unique expression of Bespoke craftsmanship," said Rolls which capitalized Bespoke. "The unveiling also celebrated the exceptional relationship between Rolls-Royce and the United States."Rolls-Royce Motor Cars North AmericaTo wit, North America remains the marque's largest global market, with more Bespoke commissions delivered to American clients than any other region in the world. Rolls recently opened Private Office New York, an exclusive, appointment-only design studio that serves as a highly personalized space where top clients collaborate directly with Rolls-Royce designers and Bespoke client managers to commission one-of-a-kind vehicles. The opening "provides clients with an exclusive environment to collaborate directly with Rolls-Royce designers on increasingly sophisticated commissions."AdvertisementAdvertisementHistory buffs will already know this: The connection between America and Rolls-Royce stretches back more than a century. The United States remains the only country outside England ever to manufacture Rolls-Royce motor cars, with the celebrated Springfield, Massachusetts, factory producing Rolls-Royce motor cars for American clients during the early twentieth century."For more than a century, the United States has played a defining role in the Rolls-Royce story," said Gerry Spahn, head of communications for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars North America. "Today it is our largest market globally, home to clients who continually inspire us through their creativity, appreciation for craftsmanship, and passion for Bespoke. These three commissions celebrate not only the 250th anniversary of the United States, but also the enduring friendship between our two nations and the remarkable relationship Rolls-Royce shares with American clients."So commissioning your own Bespoke Roller may be a patriotic thing. Ring them up, won't you?
