Meet America's Most Beautiful Truck for 2026Brandan GilloglyEvery year for the past four years out in California, the same guys who put on the Grand National Roadster Show host the Grand National Truck Show. And every year they pick a winner, which then gets the title, America's Most Beautiful Truck. And then the comments begin! Make your own below. The Grand National Roadster Show started in 1950 in Oakland, California, to celebrate the burgeoning hot rod scene that was taking over the West Coast and spreading across the country. That show is still going strong 76 years later, with its high point every year the awarding of America's Most Beautiful Roadster, arguably the most coveted award in hot rodding.Brandan GilloglyFour years ago, the owners of the Roadster show started the Truck Show, figuring just as many, if not more people, loved trucks. And every year a curated panel of judges picks America's Most Beautiful Truck. This year the winners were Gary and Stefanie Holyoak of Cedar City, Utah, for their 1963 Chevrolet C10, appropriately named "50SHDZE," a reference to the grey colors adorning the C10's body.Brandan GilloglyDesigned and crafted by HS Customs, the C10 features a manual transmission (remember when those were in trucks?) and power from a Don Hardy LS3 V8 riding on a Roadster Shop chassis and rolling on custom Schott wheels.Brandan Gillogly"Exceptional fit and finish are complemented by PPG charcoal gray metallic paint applied in-house by HS Customs," the award read. "Inside, Seams Impossible created a striking yet subtle interior finished in bold red and black hides and finely executed details. 50 SHDZE stood out among an exceptional field of custom GM and Ford trucks competing for the 2026 title.""This weekend is special because it brings together amazing trucks, SUVs and vans of all kinds under one roof," said John Buck, owner of Rod Shows and producer of the Grand National Truck Show. "From one-off customs to patinas, mini-trucks and more, there isn't another show where you can see such a variety of trucks, and we're so thankful to all of the owners and builders who joined us again this year."Doug Jerger's 1965 Dodge A100 "Backrunner"Brandan GilloglyThe weekend also introduced several special awards honoring influential members of the custom truck community. The Scott France Excellence in Fabrication Award, presented by Classic Car Studio, honored the life and legacy of the renowned metal shaper, fabricator, and lifelong truck enthusiast. The inaugural award was presented to Doug Jerger's unmistakable 1965 Dodge A100, "Backrunner."Pinstriping talent was recognized at the Truck Show.Brandan GilloglyThe Tom McWeeney Memorial Pinstriping Award was presented to Moi Arrizon's 1991 Toyota pickup, honoring the master custom painter and pinstriper whose creative spirit left an indelible mark on custom trucks, cars, and automotive art. The Courtney "Tito" Halowell Memorial Award went to Jeremy Wray's 1962 C10 Fleetside, selected by Tito's family and members of the Negative Camber club, was also presented during the weekend.House of Kolor celebrated 70 years of cool colors at the show.Brandan GilloglyCelebrating its 70th anniversary, House of Kolor brought additional custom automotive history to the show. For seven decades, the brand has helped shape the custom paint industry with its signature candies, flakes, and custom finishes. To commemorate the milestone, House of Kolor showcased a special gathering celebrating historic custom builders and the artistry that has defined the brand.Giving back remained an important part of the weekend as well. The popular Pinstriper Charity Auction brought together talented pinstripers from around the country to create one-of-a-kind artwork that was auctioned for charity. This year's efforts generated nearly $20,000 for the Volunteers for Veterans Foundation."The fourth annual event once again celebrated the full spectrum of truck culture, bringing together elite show builds, traditional customs, mini-trucks, patina trucks, SUVs, vans, industry legends and enthusiasts for a weekend dedicated entirely to trucks," Buck said. "Rod Shows is already looking ahead and is proud to announce that the 5th Annual Grand National Truck Show will return to the Fairplex in Pomona on September 25-26, 2027. Mark your calendars and get ready to do it all again next year!"
