ND Mazda Miata Finally Adds Green Paint OptionMazda (Mazda)There’s a new green coming to the Mazda MX-5 Miata. Well, sort of. Announced over the weekend at the Karuizawa Fan Meeting (an MX-5-related gathering) in Japan, the new color technically has green in the name ... though we wouldn’t fault you for thinking it was a shade of gray from the photo.Officially named "Zinc Green", this newest color shows its green tendencies when plenty of light is in the picture. Mazda itself says that “in lower-light conditions, it takes on a more subdued, grayish appearance with a sense of solidity and an almost matte quality.”This new green would be the first green of any kind applied to the ND-gen Miata. To say we at Road & Track have been impatiently waiting for a good green to come along for this generation would be an understatement; there were all sorts of lovely greens offered on previous Miatas, from the classic British Racing Green to the rarer and funkier Splash Green on the NB.AdvertisementAdvertisementMazda suggests in its announcement that the Miata won’t be the only model to wear the new Zinc Green. It’s being called a “global color,” and Mazda says it “has an appeal that is complimentary across various Mazda models, from MX-5 Miata to crossover SUV models.” In other words, expect to see Zinc Green offered on vehicles like the CX-90, CX-5 and other less sporty Mazdas. The announcement goes on to say that it “was developed as a lifestyle color, similar to the well-received Polymetal Gray Metallic.” That may be why it isn’t as energetically green as we’d like it to be. That said, final judgement will be reserved for seeing the new shade in person on the ND. We don’t have official timing yet, but Mazda says additional info and availability for the U.S. market will be announced later in 2026.You Might Also LikeIf You Can Only Own One Car, Make It One of TheseThese Are the Most Popular Cars by State
