Mazda's New SUV Can Swear at Other Drivers for YouMazdaModern car technology has certainly made our time behind the wheel more enjoyable, whether it's apps that help us find the quickest route to our destination, massaging seats, or even hands-free driving. But one thing we probably don't need is for our car to swear at other drivers on the road. However, according to Australian outlet news.com.au, that is exactly what the new Mazda CX-6e can do.The Chinese-built CX-6e, which is not sold in the United States, comes equipped with an "External Announcement" function. That feature turns the EV into a giant rolling loudspeaker at the press of a button. There are several pre-recorded messages, such as "Hey buddy I am here." However, you can also program the system to announce anything you want ... without, apparently, any filters. If you want to tell the driver of the car in front of you that just cut you off to f--k off, your Mazda can do that for you. (You can see the system in action here, just be mindful of who might be in the room.)According to a recent AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety study, 96 percent drivers said they drove aggressively or engaged in road rage behavior at least once in the prior year. Based on that, we would suspect the CX-6e external speakers would get quite a workout in the United States.Of course, that can lead to trouble and escalate an already tense situation. It can also lead to fines if you're Down Under: in Australia, police can issue fines for using offensive language in public. If you're in Western Australia, those fines can reach $6000 AUD, about $4200 USD. That's a hefty price to pay just call the driver next to you an a-hole.I'm sure this feature was created with the best intentions and is designed to be helpful, but giving drivers an unfiltered megaphone in a world where people lose their minds over someone merging into their lane seems like a questionable decision. Then again ... after years of enthusiasts complaining that EVs lack emotion and don't make enough noise, Mazda has finally figured out how to make one with plenty of both.If You Can Only Own One Car, Make It One of TheseThese Are the Most Popular Cars by State
