LiDAR-equipped trims start at 145,900 yuan (21,700 USD) and can be optioned with both EV and range extender (EREV) powertrains. The CX-6e is the second new-energy (NEV) model in Mazda’s China lineup, where it’s called the EZ-60, with the first model being the 6e sedan, or the EZ-6 in China. The NEV SUV is based on Changan’s EPA1 platform and is closely related to the Deepal S07. Pricing The CX-6e’s new LiDAR trims are priced higher than the current lineup, with a 12,000 yuan (1,800 USD) markup on both EV and EREV options. EV trims also command a 6,000 yuan (900 USD) premium over EREV models. Compiled by CarNewsChina. The SUV is aggressively priced in China, with a starting price almost three times lower than in Europe. The CX-6e is set to debut in overseas markets soon, with UK pricing, for example, starting at 42,990 GBP (57,000 USD). Compared with Tesla’s offerings in China, the CX-6e undercuts the Model Y by almost half. While Tesla’s EV SUV starts at 263,500 yuan (39,300 USD), the CX-6e’s cheapest EV trim retails for 139,900 yuan (20,800 USD), though without LiDAR. What’s new with the LiDAR CX-6e The refresh adds “advanced L2” assisted driving capabilities, which Mazda says cover over 200 “assisted driving scenarios”. It’s paired with a sensor suite of three mmWave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 11 cameras. The new CX-6e with LiDAR. Mazda says the CX-6e can now handle more automated manoeuvres on the highway, approach on- and off-ramps, and access service areas with limited driver input. It can also overtake slower cars on its own with autonomous lane changes. In urban driving, the automaker says the CX-6e’s assisted driving system can now tackle intersections and roundabouts without user input, and can perform U-turns on its own. It can also drive between parallel main and side access roads and make emergency lane changes to avoid obstacles. Mazda says the new LiDAR-assisted system covers speeds from 0 to 130 km/h on the highway, and 0 to 80 km/h in urban scenarios. The system also lets the CX-6e perform remote, automated, and path-following parking manoeuvres. Meanwhile, the CX-6e’s platform-mate, the Deepal S07, offers Huawei’s LiDAR-equipped “Qiankun” ADS assisted driving system on its top trims. Mazda hasn’t disclosed whether the 6e sedan will also get the system. More on the CX-6e The CX-6e lineup currently retails for 113,900 to 166,900 yuan (20,800 to 24,500 USD) in China, with EV and LiDAR trims commanding a premium over EREV and non-LiDAR options. It powers a single 190 kW (255 hp) rear motor and reaches a maximum speed of 185 km/h. 3C fast charging is available, allowing a 30-80% charge in 15 minutes. EREV trims, which place a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated 72 kW (97 hp) range extender at the front, achieve the same top speed with the same 190 kW (255 hp) rear motor. A smaller 31.73 kWh LFP pack from CATL–Changan allows for 200 km of CLTC range (162 km WLTP). The right side of the CX-6e. Mazda says it has focused heavily on aerodynamic efficiency, giving the CX-6e nine ducts around the hood, bumpers, and sail panels to reduce drag. The coefficient of drag (Cd) is down to 0.258, comparable to rivals like the Xiaomi YU7 (0.245 Cd) and the Xpeng G9 (0.272 Cd). Inside, the CX-6e departs from Mazda’s screen-light, button-heavy cabin design, instead featuring minimal buttons and a 26.45-inch 5K infotainment screen that stretches from the centre to the passenger’s side. The driver gets a 50-inch heads-up display (HUD), with a 100-inch HUD as an optional extra. The interior of the CX-6e. For reference, the CX-6e measures 4850/1935/1620 mm and has a 2902 mm wheelbase. Curb weight ranges from 2048 to 2180 kg, depending on trim and powertrain. It uses McPherson struts up front and a multi-link suspension at the rear, with adjustable damping on higher trims. According to China EV DataTracker, Mazda delivered 4,532 CX-6e units in August 2026. The NEV SUV has proven to be a relative hit for the automaker, accounting for 45% of its total brand sales in China. The LiDAR refresh would help the CX-6e even the playing field against homegrown Chinese NEV rivals. Source: Weibo – Mazda Most important news in your inbox.
