During the company’s Q4 FY2026 earnings conference call on 5 May, Rajesh Jejurikar, the executive director and CEO of its automotive and farm division, said that it has introduced four of them so far, with three launches still pending. He added that the company is now expanding the plan with three additional EVs and aims to launch all six remaining models by March 2031.Jejurikar did not disclose which EVs were in the pipeline, but during Mahindra’s Q3 FY2026 earnings conference call in February, he said the company plans to launch a new electric model codenamed ‘BO7’ in 2027.“That, we believe, will be a very big volume driver on top of what we are doing with our current three (Electric Origin) products”, Jejurikar said at the time.Mahindra began testing the BO7 on public roads shortly afterwards, inadvertently revealing that it would be the production version of the BE.07 concept introduced in August 2022. The concept measures 4.565 m in length, 1.9 m in width, and 1.66 m in height, and has a 2.775 m wheelbase. The production version appears to have similar dimensions and should compete with Tata Motors’ Harrier.ev.Originally, Mahindra planned to develop the production version of the BE.07 concept on the INGLO skateboard platform and had scheduled its launch for October 2026. During the Q4 FY2026 earnings conference call, Jejurikar indicated that the company has since changed those plans and will utilise its upcoming NU_IQ multi-energy platform instead.“We’re not doing more of the only-EV (platform), because we’ve found a way to now do a born EV or a grounds-up EV on the NU_IQ platform, while still doing ICE (vehicles) on the same platform,” he said. The six future Mahindra EVs should also include the production version of the Vision.T concept unveiled in August 2025, an evolution of the Vision Thar.e introduced in August 2023. According to a report from Autocar India, the company could unveil this model in 2027 and market it as an electric alternative to the ICE-only Thar Roxx, targeting off-road enthusiasts. In 2028, Mahindra may launch an SUV coupé derived from the SUV codenamed BO7. The company had hinted at such a model with the BE.09 concept in August 2022. Currently, Mahindra offers five EVs in India: the XUV 3XO EV, XUV400, BE 6, XEV 9e, and XEV 9S. Between 20 March 2025 and 24 April 2026, the company sold 55,000 EVs, and much of this volume came from the BE 6, XEV 9e, and XEV 9S, which it developed on the INGLO platform and launched under the new ‘Electric Origin’ series last year.Currently, Mahindra can produce up to 96,000 EVs annually. During the Q4 FY2026 earnings conference call, Jejurikar revealed that the company plans to expand annual production capacity to 144,000 units by March 2027 to prepare for the new launches scheduled between April 2027 and March 2028.youtube.com, mahindra.com
