Team Green has announced its 1100SX in Europe for 2027, and the up-spec SE version benefits from some head-turning new visual options. If you buy from a link, we may earn a commission. Learn moreThe sport-touring bike is one of my favorite compromises in motorcycling.Performance-oriented enough for spirited riding yet relaxed enough and equipped for longer days, it's a unique breed that I think really doesn't get enough credit.AdvertisementAdvertisementIn many cases, I'm inclined to put it down to looks. Cool as the bikes are, a lot of companies don't splash them with exciting paint options or interesting liveries.Kawasaki's Ninja 1100SX SE dons a new Plasma Lime Green and Metallic Diablo Black livery for 2027. - Credit: KawasakiThankfully, Kawasaki has bucked the trend with its 2027 Ninja 1100SX SE. The announcement is for a European release, so I hope the options eventually make the jump stateside.Head-turning tourersI'm talking about the new Plasma Lime Green and Pearl Stardust White paint schemes. While Kawasaki has incorporated plenty of verdant variations throughout its Ninja portfolio, I think the new shade is an improvement over the Emerald Blazed Green of prior 1100SX models. The Pearl Stardust White keeps things a little more understated. - Credit: KawasakiPlus, the Metallic Diablo Black accents and Ninja graphic placement are the most tastefully executed yet. They keep the livery simple and understated rather than overcomplicating it with patterns like prior iterations.AdvertisementAdvertisementMoreover, even though it's more neutral in palette, the Pearl Stardust White is eye-catching in its own way. It's subtler for those who don't want green without being shades of black and grey. The graphics look much more refined than on prior bikes. - Credit: KawasakiUltimately, though, I appreciate these colorways the most because they actually stand out from those offered on the standard 1100SX. There's actually added visual appeal to the SE designation.A fitting visual treatmentIf nothing else, it's good for consistency. Kawasaki layers the 1100SX with some desirable equipment upgrades as part of the added expense for the SE, so I think the differentiation is fitting. They're impactful additions, too. From an Öhlins S46 rear shock and a set of heated grips to some Brembo M4.32 Monoblock calipers, matching discs, stainless braided lines and an upgraded master cylinder, they're all tweaks aimed at making the Ninja an even more refined touring steed. Based on the ongoing pattern of releases, I expect to see it in the US soon, though only time will tell what colors American riders get.Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX Learn More About the Author: Gray is an associate editor at Gear Patrol, covering cars, motorcycles and anything else with wheels.
