Earlier this year, the company unveiled the 2027 GT 4-Door, which packs up to 1153 horsepower and is expected to replace the gas-powered AMG GT 4-Door when sales start later this year. Now, Mercedes-AMG is teasing its next dedicated EV, which takes the same formula as its new sports sedan and raises the roof.Mercedes-AMGWe've known for quite some time that Mercedes-AMG was developing an electric SUV, with the company first announcing plans for such a vehicle back in November 2024 and teasing it for the first time in December 2024. Now, however, a reveal appears imminent, with Mercedes-AMG publishing a series of images on social media of the car under a black shroud.AdvertisementAdvertisementWhile the sheet obscures most of the electric SUV's details, a couple of key points shine through. The lighting appears to take a similar approach to the AMG GT 4-Door, with the headlights forming a three-pointed star with one longer LED line angled inward towards the car's center. The taillights also feature a small three-pointed star, which sits inside a circular border just like on the GT 4-Door, although the sedan has three sets of this motif while the SUV may only have one.Mercedes-AMGWe expect the rest of the styling to largely mirror the polarizing look seen on the GT 4-Door, with a ridge between the headlights where the top edge of the grille sits and bulging wheel arches. We also wouldn't be shocked if the SUV features an LED light bar linking the headlights.In terms of powertrains, nothing is confirmed yet, but we bet the SUV will feature similar options to the GT 4-Door. That means a tri-motor powertrain that makes 805 horsepower in the GT55 trim and 1153 hp in the GT63 trim. Mercedes has also revealed a dual-motor version with 536 hp. The AMG GT 4-Door packs a 106-kWh battery that provides around 300 miles of range.
