The Grandeur was the first to launch in Korea with the new infotainment system earlier this year, while the IONIQ 3 is Hyundai’s first European model to offer the high-tech new setup. The system is the “first tangible step” toward an SDV (Software Defined Vehicle) architecture, which will enable new in-car features, autonomous driving, and a personalized driving experience. An IONIQ 5 prototype was spotted in South Korea with a completely new high-tech setup. The images from JHS_car.x (via TheKoreanCarBlog) reveal a minimalist design with one large 17″ or 18″ central infotainment screen. It also doesn’t appear to have many physical buttons aside from the two toggles on the steering wheel. Will Hyundai launch the IONIQ 5 as its first SDV? It has yet to be confirmed. The prototype could also be a mid-cycle refresh or update. However, as Hyundai’s most popular electric vehicle, it may make sense.
